"B" is for...

Baby Shower and Birthday Week! 

Emily will celebrate her 6th birthday this week!  ...................

...sorry...I'm trying to wipe the tears off of my keyboard!  She's truly not my baby anymore...so even though I may not get the best night of sleep because she still crawls into our bed at night...I will let her, because I love her snuggles...and the time is just going too fast!  It will be another busy week, but it's so fun and exciting having cake and getting presents and getting together with the family!

Emily and I had a really fun time at my cousin's baby shower this weekend too!

I've been really close with all of my cousins growing up...she has 4 sisters and a brother...I'm telling you, the girls rule in our families!  But once we all grew up and started our own families...I don't get to see them that often.  It was so nice to see them all!  I hadn't even seen my mom and sister since before Christmas!  How does the time get away so fast?  We live about an hour away from everyone and with all the snow we've had, it's hard to get together sometimes.

I love all the little baby things!  I'm so excited for her!  Baby Lily is due March 25th...she will be here soon!

Emily had a wonderful time!  She said she made lots of new 'friends'!  They played hide-and-seek and she told me they hid in the boys' bathroom!  I told her she's not supposed to be in there...but she smartly reminded me that there were no boys here...oh, right...but still!

We had such a fun weekend with my family...and I'm excited to meet the newest member Lily!  Until then...Heather, get lots of sleep!  I have a feeling Lily will keep you pretty busy!

"You're Gonna Miss This...Moment" Busy Bee

Time to join Pam and share the moments we're going to miss one day...because life is so short! Sometimes it's hard to find those moments among our busy schedules, but that's what I love about participating in this...it makes me stop and think about it and appreciate them so much more!

I wasn't sure I was going to post a Moment this week...and here it is almost midnight and I'm just sitting down to relax!  I cannot seem to just go to bed at night no matter how late it is...without just sitting down at the computer, watching tv and trying to relax.  And that brings me to a moment I just know I'm going to miss...being busy!  The snow is melting, school is back on schedule, and activities are in full swing again!  Whew!

Sunday - Teach Sunday School, celebrate Grandma Martha's 93rd birthday with the family {if only I had as much energy as she does!}

Monday - Pick Emily up from school, after-school activity for Alex and Emily

Tuesday - Volunteer in Emily's class {had lots of fun using the laminator!} grab lunch and head to preschool board meeting, go home get Alex off the bus and head to ice-skating to drop Emily off, take Alex for weekly allergy shot, pick up Emily and then back to school to pick up Market Day order.

Wednesday - MOPS meeting, pick Emily up from school, eat lunch {Wendy's again!} back to school for teacher conference for Alex {I'm so proud of him! I bragged about how much Alex loves school and that he's never missed a day in his life!}

Thursday - Alex couging and slight fever...decided he should not go to school today {I totally jinxed myself the day before!} brought him along to my follow-up periodontist appointment from my gum graft, then to Target {of course!} pick Emily up from school... Alex is feeling better due to the high-volume of fun going on in the sun room! {Alex told me it's no fun being sick and making up homework, but is lots of fun being absent!  We are bummed he will not get his perfect attendance award this semester...boohoo!} Take Emily to ballet.

Friday - pick Emily up from school, eat lunch at Wendy's {seriously...we're there alot!} another after-school activity, take Emily to meet Grandma for a sleep-over, Alex and I went on a date to Chili's and to Toys R Us! 

Saturday - Pick Emily up from Grandma's house and go to my cousin's baby shower!

{...Repeat...}

The poor car has been running all week...so I finally pampered her with a car wash yesterday!  So far, we have managed to be home for dinner every night this week, and that is what's most important, but it doesn't always happen that way.  Emily will perform in the annual Ice Show at the end of April and her annual ballet Recital in June...and hopefully a summer vacation to Cancun after that {yippee!} ...Alex and Emily will both be playing baseball this summer...and I truly hope we can slow down before I lose them both to school all day next Fall!  Wah!  Emily will not be a first grader...and Alex a second grader!  It's just not possible!

One day I will wish for these busy, non-stop days...because Alex and Emily will be all grown up and the house will be still and quiet...and I know I'm going to miss it someday!

I ♥ Faces - Week 8 - {Hands On} Fun!

"Say cheese high five!"  Iheartfaces is focusing on hands this week!  I didn't think I was going to enter this time...but somehow in those gazillion very few pictures that I have...I seem to pull something out of my hat!

I came across this picture that I took of Emily last Summer when she found a robin's egg on the ground.  I just love that "Robin Egg" blue!  It's my favorite!  And I love Summer...can it get here any faster?  {Who put that groundhog in charge anyway...}

We kept that egg for a long time in a little plastic cup filled with Easter grass...until I forgot about when I tucked it away in a cabinet and found it some time later...um...organize much?  Not the most pleasant smell!

But I love that little hand...and she can collect as many eggs as she finds...just remind me next time where I put them...okay?

"Not Me!" Monday

Ah...Monday...I'm actually not happy for this usually dreaded day!  There's almost no snow on the ground...and the kids will not be getting back to school on a normal schedule once again!  Whew!  Can I please not have the house back again and get some order!  {although I have not loved having them home and being super lazy productive...ahem...}

I did not send Emily to church in this Pippi Longstocking get-up...and Dan was not even a little embarrassed to allow her out of the house like that...even though he wasn't even going to be there...

After church {and a cat nap} we did not get together with the whole family to help celebrate Great-Grandma Martha's 93rd birthday!  She is not the most amazing woman in charge of such an awesome family...I do not want to grow up and be just like her someday!

Alex was not a super sweet helper...getting gifts...serving the cookies and cake...and helping with clean up!

It was not a wonderful party with family!  {I love birthdays!}  If this family gets any bigger...there will not be a place to hold all of us to get together much more...although, I have a feeling we'll find a place!  We are not so blessed to have a big family!

Dan is not still truckin' on the basement...and the ceiling's almost done!  {when can we move in? ...sigh... slow and steady wins the race, I guess...}

And...I did not get some fun mail...thanks to Tiffany!  She makes the best pillows!  She made this pillow for Craft Hope...and I'm not so happy to see it's cute, cheery pear-ness in our kitchen...

What did you not do this week...sleep with a pile of unfolded laundry on your bed...wake up to a sink full of dirty dishes and a tornado of Barbies and Hot Wheels on your family room floor...or hang out with your awesome family and eat too much pizza and cake...me either...Not me!
