I ♥ Faces - Week 21 - {Yellow}

This week at iheartfaces, the challenge is Yellow...and I'm so excited that I took Emily into a muddy, prickly weed field to capture her in a field of yellow flowers just in time for this challenge!

Weekend Wrap-up...

...sunshine...finally! 

It was a beautiful weekend and we soaked up every minute of it in the sunshine!  {and now my lobster-like arms are proof!}  Of course the laundry once again took a back seat to this...

Sunday we had an impromptu pool party with our neighbors and a few friends...and the kids {and mom!} had a great time hanging out and visiting...while Dan baked in the heat working so hard in the yard...he is so dedicated!  We appreciate it so much!  It's a never-ending job and he deserves lots of praise for keeping up with it!

And Saturday night Emily had a surprise for all of us...

She has a new smile!  She lost her first tooth!  She said she didn't even know it was loose...and all of a sudden that night she told me she thought her tooth was loose...and it was pretty much about to fall out!  And she pulled it right out!  She was just as surprised as I was!  {Luckily the Tooth Fairy came through on such super-short notice...whew!}

Sunday morning she has never been as excited to go to church and show off her new smile! 

I was so excited for her...but a little sad...because now the next tooth is loose...and it all changes from here on...she's not such a little girl any more...sniff sniff...  She and Alex are just growing up so fast.

It was a great weekend...and just seven more days of school now...so ready for summer!

{Yellow}

This morning started out {yellow}...the sun was shining, and it was a beautiful sight... ...but then it was gone, and back to gray skies.  We haven't seen the sun in days and it's calling for more rain...drats.

We pass a gorgeous field of {yellow} wildflowers...or maybe weeds, I don't know the difference...but still so pretty...almost every day.  I've been wanting to take Emily's picture there for so long...as soon as it was nice and sunny outside.  Well that's just not going to happen...but we went anyway! 

It was quite an adventure...and probably a sight for anyone driving by...watching us try to get into the field!  It was surrounded by tall prickly weeds and it was a muddy mess.  But Emily is a wonderful sport and will help mommy try just about anything for a photo op!  {I love her!}

We sure do miss the {yellow} sunshine around here...but at least I have Emily to brighten my day!

Wordless Wordy Wednesday {Two in One}

{I received my new lens in the mail yesterday...thanks so much Dan!  I broke my 18-55mm lens awhile ago and have been using my zoom 55-200mm lens recently...which meant I had to stand really far away to take alot of my pictures!  My new lens is two-in-one...an 18-250mm so I can zoom o-u-t but still get really CLOSE...}

{...without changing lenses!  It's really heavy, though...please no more clumsy hands on my part...oops...  Thank you Alex & Emily for letting me try it out!  I also love Alex's smile!  He just came from the dentist...no cavities...yay!  But some crowding with his new teeth coming in...we may need Daddy's help soon!  And Emily...please let me fix your hair...sigh...}

I ♥ Faces - Week 20 - {Faces & Flowers}

It's Spring time {almost Summer!} and I ♥ Faces is challenging us with Faces and Flowers...shouldn't be hard this time of year...perfect!  Maybe...if we haven't had rain every day!  I wanted to take Emily to a field of beautiful yellow wildflowers...but didn't make it thanks to this rain...but...I guess flowers love the rain...so I'll get over it!  And I'll take her there another day!

Weekend Wrap-up...

It's been a pretty great weekend...even though the sun decided not to shine as much as I'd hoped...we were able to accomplish lots of yard work and enjoy the outdoors!

But the sun shared a very few of its rays...briefly...

{and to get some of this around the landscaping...but still alot more to go!  ...yes...Alex is helping...in his pajamas!  That's what he and Emily always wear after they swim!  ha!}

Sunday we had a family get-together picnic to celebrate birthdays and cousin Julie's graduation from nursing school!  The weather was wet and chilly...but we had a great time...and the kids enjoyed playing outside!

Another busy weekend...another baseball game, another baseball practice, being with family...but lots of fun! 

And if you can't beat the rain...join it...

...after we got home from the picnic and rested...briefly...Alex and Emily played in the rain and the sprinkler.  They have no cares that it was cold outside...they just had fun!

Ready for another busy week...not really!  Preschool board meeting, baseball game, dentist, ballet, MOPS picnic, baseball practice, ballet {again}, allergy doctor...baseball game and practice...back to the weekend!
