Weekend Wrap-up...

{...and a few Not Me's for good measure!}

Really...I don't know where the weekends go...or each day for that matter.  I think maybe I slept...but each day runs into the next!  But it's all for fun...fun on the run!

Saturday I took Emily to ice-skating practice...her Ice Show is coming up...and she's getting so excited to get her outfit!  Ha! 
But first a few with Miss Animal Lover with as Many Clips as She Can Get in Her Hair before we head out...

{It was not super cold in the ice rink!  Emily's lips were not blue...and my toes were not popsicles...brrr!}

{I love how the girls are facing in all directions...or not doing anything at all!  I wonder if they'll be ready in just two weeks!  Ha!  But they sure are so cute...and so fun to watch...it cracks me up!}

After practice...we had to warm up somehow...maybe some delicious warm chips and salsa from Chili's...mmm!

{...and we did not stop and smell the flowers pinwheels...and run free at Hobby Lobby for a little bit long time!  And...Emily is absolutely not wearing socks with her flip flops...geez...she has better fashion sense than that!}

{...and Alex is not dressed like a construction cone...who's kids are these, anyway?  I do not love shopping at Hobby Lobby...but we always end up with something we do not need...really...like this wall cling Alex picked out...good grief...doesn't everyone need one of those?}

Okay...time to go home...I have to use the potty so bad from all the sweet tea I drank at Chili's...and I was not lazy enough to wait until we got home instead of walk all the way to the back of the store...ahem...but did we stay home...

...of course not!  We had to stop at the school playground and run off that never-ending supply of energy...

...and to find Emily's twin!

Such a fun and busy day...Emily was talking to Dan one second...and the next second...zzzzzzz...on the couch!  Ha!  She already had her bath and Dan had to carry her up to bed...that's the best!

Sunday was pretty low-key...Sunday School in the morning...and then I went to help the preschool board set up for a fundraiser...while the kids ran wild at the neighbors!  {We have some great neighbors...and so many kids to play with!}

The pictures don't do any justice...but it looked fabulous!  One of my sweet friends on the board and her husband, a chef, own a cute little bistro in town and they closed the restaurant to host a fundraiser for the preschool...they sold every seat!  I had so much fun pretending to know what I was doing setting the tables!  It almost makes me want to throw a fancy party...almost! 

Another busy week ahead...summer is calling!  Hope you had a great weekend too!  The weather couldn't have been better!

"Not Me!" Monday

 

I am not really excited about this getting started...

...this is not a definite sure sign of Spring...at last!

Alex did not have his baseball evaluation day this weekend...and he did not run as fast as he could...

...throw the ball as hard as he could...

{he does not get his hands mixed up!  He's a true lefty...but plays baseball, basketball and golf right-handed and tennis left-handed...go figure!}

...catch some ground balls, pop ups and fast pitches...

...and hit some homeruns...

{okay...he does not need a bit more practice for that to happen!}

{...sigh...doesn't he look so much bigger than last year?  Really!}

Emily did not have a great time on the playground while Alex was showing us his skills...

{and if you look closely...that is not dirt on her forehead...really...she did not get a big goose egg playing tag at a friend's house and run smack into a chair!  ...nice bruise...}

I did not finally get a great start on trying to exercise more by walking laps near the school before picking Emily up...did not sprint the last lap...did not feel as though my lungs were going to burst right out of my chest...and then did not let Emily talk me into eating lunch at Steak 'n Shake where I absolutely, positively did not enjoy a Peppermint chocolate-chip shake...{ugh}...I do not have a lot of work to do on my will power!  Geez...not me!  {It was not so delicious, either and so worth it to me...ahem...}

So how about you?  Do you get geared up for The Biggest Loser by grabbing a bag of Chex Mix...or let your kids skip brushing their teeth for one night and make sure they brush extra good in the morning?  Not me, either!  {Especially when Dad's an oral healthcare professional...ahem... he's not reading this is he?}

"Not Me!" Monday

Yippee!  Monday!  Why so happy for Monday?  It is not Spring Break!  We have nothing planned {true...well almost nothing...}  but I'm not happy to have nowhere to be!  We have not been doing lots of this over the weekend preparing for a long week of nothing...

The couch and I have not become really close!  {Yes...that's right...the clock does not say almost 6:00 in the evening and I did not just pry my bottom off the couch where Alex was using me as his pillow!  I did not want to move...I do not love when I get a little snuggle time with him...it is rare...true!}  Seriously...I would not be so idle with my time as that...please...ahem...

Prior to this...however...I did not help Alex cram to meet his AR goal before Spring Break, in which he needed to pass seven tests!  He's always ahead of the game and never procrastinates...like his mother...  We do not work better under pressure...down to the wire...last second ...Gulp!  {Way to go Alex for getting it done!}

I have not fallen in love again with my Hoover FloorMate cleaning the kitchen floor 3 times in one week... {the most it's been cleaned all year... ahem...}  I did not drop a large, completely full cup of Diet Coke from BK from the top shelf of the fridge all over the just cleaned tile spilling and splashing from the inside to under the fridge... preceded by Dan not walking through the kitchen into the family room with muddy shoes {seriously? c'mon now...sigh...} The FloorMate has not been working over time!

I am not so glad that I do not own a runaway Toyota!  So scary!  We had considered trading the Momtaxi in for a Sequoia ...um... maybe not!  {Really true!}  Dan, however does not own a Lexus {yikes!} and I do not wonder when I'm on the road if the Toyota next to me is suddenly going to lose control!  {Be safe all drivers whatever you drive!}

I have not seen Dan all weekend {a little true} because he's not been super rolling the paint, air-hammering nails like crazy, and moving our junk precious goods around in the basement...

What about you?  What did you not do... eat almost a whole bag of Caramel Bugles...lay on the couch with the Bugle crumbs and watch Lady and the Tramp all weekend with your kids...or forget your deoderant the day you left the house to meet your mom and sister for lunch wondering if you smelled?  No?  Geesh...me neither, that's for sure!  Be sure to visit mckmama to see who did that....because I'm pretty sure it was not me...ahem...

ps... I do not like Daylight Savings Time!  {So True!} I do not like that an hour of my day is just gone...vanished, never happened, lost!  And I do not like going around re-setting all the clocks throughout the house...even though some of them were never re-set from the last time!  Blah!

"Not Me!" Monday

Ah...Monday...I'm actually not happy for this usually dreaded day!  There's almost no snow on the ground...and the kids will not be getting back to school on a normal schedule once again!  Whew!  Can I please not have the house back again and get some order!  {although I have not loved having them home and being super lazy productive...ahem...}

I did not send Emily to church in this Pippi Longstocking get-up...and Dan was not even a little embarrassed to allow her out of the house like that...even though he wasn't even going to be there...

After church {and a cat nap} we did not get together with the whole family to help celebrate Great-Grandma Martha's 93rd birthday!  She is not the most amazing woman in charge of such an awesome family...I do not want to grow up and be just like her someday!

Alex was not a super sweet helper...getting gifts...serving the cookies and cake...and helping with clean up!

It was not a wonderful party with family!  {I love birthdays!}  If this family gets any bigger...there will not be a place to hold all of us to get together much more...although, I have a feeling we'll find a place!  We are not so blessed to have a big family!

Dan is not still truckin' on the basement...and the ceiling's almost done!  {when can we move in? ...sigh... slow and steady wins the race, I guess...}

And...I did not get some fun mail...thanks to Tiffany!  She makes the best pillows!  She made this pillow for Craft Hope...and I'm not so happy to see it's cute, cheery pear-ness in our kitchen...

What did you not do this week...sleep with a pile of unfolded laundry on your bed...wake up to a sink full of dirty dishes and a tornado of Barbies and Hot Wheels on your family room floor...or hang out with your awesome family and eat too much pizza and cake...me either...Not me!
