Inside Martin Manor - Laundry Room & Chaos

Before, I told you the tour was over, but I thought I'd share this small space with you! And when I mean small, that is an understatement! I call this the laundry room and chaos because this area is where our small bathroom is, where the back doors outside and to the garage are, and where everyone seems to be at the same time! The refrigerator door also opens near this space and causes an obstacle when someone is running to the bathroom or coming in from outside! I have bumped my elbows {grumble} more times than I can count trying to carry loads of laundry in and out of this space!

the Laundry room

{little birdie outside my window who makes going in here a little more cheerier! "Nice to see you, too, my friend!"}

the chaos
{the small space where coats are hung, shoes are piled, mail is gathered and messages are written... Now just imagine when the shoes are piled up and me trying to carry a basket of laundry & tripping... I mean, gracefully stepping over them!}

{the art door...leading out to the garage. I like to keep the refrigerator 'clean' & it's nice to see this every time we leave for the day!}

{Click here  and here for more updates on the laundry room and less chaos!}

Thanks again for stopping by! Feel free to take your shoes and coat off...and help fold some laundry! If you'd like to visit more of the Manor, just go here!

  1. Mine only weighs four pounds so she is so easy to move around...hard to catch though, lol!

    Loved your laundry room pix. Cute! I came out of ours with a basket full of towels one day, and my 20 year old brought some friends home.

    I counted nine people walking by (many over 6 feet tall, lol!)! Should have had them help me...hehehe.

  2. Hi Carrie!

    Love the sign to your laundry room...giggle!

    It does look like you need to be some kind of circus freak to maneuver through those passages with an arm load of anything without falling flat on your face!

  3. I wish I had a laundry room instead of a basement with the washer and dyer just out there. Love the back door idea. Super cute.

  4. Oooh...I love your laundry room! But after looking at the pics of your home, I do not see the chaos. It is beautiful! But I can imagine trying to carry an armful of laundry and tripping over shoes. That sounds very much like my bedroom :o)

  5. Your laundry room is decorated! That is a novel idea for my house but then again we have a laundry/pantry closet so it would be kind of hard to get any decorations up.

    Love the art door...great idea!

    And I love how you've got a place for everything. When we come in our house we walk right into our family room and everything just get dropped...not great place for shoes or jackets or bags. Maybe in my next house...a gal can dream!

  6. Oooh, I loved seeing this space. Mudroom/laundry rooms make me swoon! Yours has me thinking mine isn't nice enough. Where's all your laundry?! Isn't it supposed to be all over the laundry room like mine is? Great pictures!

  7. That is just about the cutest laundry room I've ever seen! I'd be so embarrassed to show you mine...nary a decoration in sight. One thing that I've been dying to get is cabinets in my laundry room - exactly the shade of yours - I love them!

  8. I've perused all your Manor pictures. You have a very gorgeous house. Very nice. I love all of your choice decoration. The signs and what nots on the walls. I did notice the laundry one that said "mom hangs out here". But at least little red birdie keeps you company. Love your kitchen cabinets. I have oak and dream of have new fronts added in more of a brownish cherry finish.

    One question...where's the manor's yard/porch/outside area? I guess I'm a huge lover of looking at flowers, yards, porches.

    Thanks for sharing. I do love looking at house pictures and seeing all the decor. I could move right into your house and feel comfortable with the style...very much my own.
    Sweet blessings,
    Paula

  10. LOVE having a personalized entry for the family! That is cool having the kids' artwork and such right where you see it on the way in and out. Like you, I prefer the fridge to be clutter-free but I am seldom able to keep it that way. Unfortunately, I don't have a mud room. My laundry is upstairs. But I love having it there! :) After all, that's where the dirty clothes are, too!
