I ♥ Faces - Week 17 - {Smiles}

This week at I ♥ Faces it's all about Smiles...of course! Seems like the simplest task ever...except it's not! I decided on this one of Emily...not only because I'm partial to her cute little smile...but because I loved these stairs! I want to go back and try for another capture there sometime! They belong to the courthouse...so let's hope we can get back for fun again...and not for a parking violation! Ha!

Weekend Wrap-up...

...on ice...

That pretty much sums up the weekend! 

Friday night we all watched Emily skate...Dan stayed just to watch Emily...but Alex and I watched the whole show!  I love it...I could watch it over and over!  {And Allen Smith, from last season's Biggest Loser, sat just a few seats over from us...but I didn't have the nerve to ask him for a picture...and neither would Alex!  Shoot...he's from our town...so maybe next time!  I'm sure he wouldn't approve of the yummy buttery, salty popcorn we were eating...ahem...}

Saturday it was just me and Emily.

{Her hair was so neat and tidy at the beginning...but by the end of the weekend...it is what it is!}

I chaperoned both shows...which means I had to walk around with a clipboard and take head count and keep track of all the girls during the shows.  Not as easy as it sounds...but thank goodness they were easy to spot in those costumes!  {I didn't lose any of them either!}

After the first show of the day...we had just enough time to meet Dan and Alex for a quick bite of pizza before we had to be back for the next one.

When we got back from eating dinner she just couldn't hang on...so I let her sleep in the car for about twenty minutes before it was time to get ready...I felt the same way!

Grandma and Grandpa came Sunday for her final performance...she was thrilled to see them...and to get flowers!

Awesome job Emily!  She had a great weekend...and as tiring as it was...she said she wanted to do it again!

I thought we were done with ice skating for the summer...but we might be here more than I thought!  She really enjoys it and is doing great!  Her instructor came up to me and wanted to know if Emily would like to do competition this summer and have one of the Senior skaters coach her for her Senior Project...

I ♥ Faces ♥'s Me!

  Okay...really?  I probably wouldn't have even checked...but someone actually congratulated me!  For what...you ask?  I made Third Place over at Iheartfaces!  Yippee!  Thank you so much!  That is a huge honor...out of over 500 entries!  There are so many talented photographers out there!  I can't take all the credit, of course...Alex and Emily are always winners in my book!  Thank you both for letting me snap a hundred pictures of you a day so that I can capture some awesome smiles and memories!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

It seems to be all about baseball these days!  Alex has finally started his baseball practice...and between he and Emily...we're going to be spending lots of time at the baseball diamonds!  I put all the games and practices on the calendar...and I felt my head spin just a little!

This week is nearing the end...but it couldn't be busier! 

{Beware...lots of photos...and a crummy video to follow!  Just yesterday I figured out how to video with my camera, but it doesn't focus once it's started recording...therefore, it's blurry sometimes...just pretend it's awesome!}

Back to back practices on Wednesday...Emily's first up to bat...

Alex did an awesome job...and we have lots of practices and games in our future!  If I'm not at home...I'll be here...with snacks, camera, and probably a big Diet Coke!

From the diamonds...to the ice rink!  Emily had her Ice Show rehearsal and she was thrilled to get a pink costume this year!  It was all she wanted all year long!  Ha! 

{And I had to get a picture of her hair first...because I think this is the first time she has let me truly get all the tangles out...and it looked so pretty and smooth!  She loved it!  She said...seriously..."This hair would look good with pierced ears!"  She reminds me of that every chance she gets!}

The song for her routine is...what else...Take Me Out to the Ball Game! {We really just can't get away from it!}  And here is my crummy video!  The girls are all darling...sometimes I couldn't even tell which one was Emily!

We will be here for the rest of the weekend...but I love watching the girls on the ice...it's amazing how they spin and twirl and the costumes are so beautiful!  They are all handmade custom for each girl by one woman!  Incredible!
