It was the perfect day yesterday...sunny and cooler! A great day to be outside {and avoid any laundry and cleaning I could!} Alex and Emily wanted to go to our favorite little town in Brown County and shop...and I certainly wasn't going to argue with that!
I always try and get a picture at one of my favorite shops...except Alex wouldn't have it since they painted this chair pink! {It's the same one as the picture of him on my header at the top! It used to be white...and I think it was orange before that!}
{Ahh...finally, a smile from Alex! I really do try and take pictures of him and not just Emily, but he runs away when the lens is facing him! I may have even threatened him to get this...but I'm not exactly sure!}
{He'd rather be on the other side of the camera like me...but I do appreciate a few pictures of me...even though I dislike them!}
{I almost bought this sign...but I didn't...I think Alex owed me at least $100, though by the end of the day! Ha!}
We went to another one of our usual shops so Alex could pick out a birthday present that he's been wanting for awhile...an IU scoreboard clock...and so Emily could buy another stuffed animal...she seriously doesn't need one more stuffed animal, but it's a tradition when we go here, and she honestly loves them!

After lunch we stopped in the candy store {more for me than them!} and then to the park for pony rides and hiking.
{There were only three ponies to pick from and Socks was the biggest...so he...and mommy got a workout with four laps around the circle! Socks was a little stubborn because when he didn't want to walk anymore...he wouldn't! But we both made it around...eventually!}
{Good grief...I don't know who's bigger, me or Socks! I feel just as big anyway! ...sigh...}
{After Socks finally got his break...we watched another horse getting some new shoes! It was actually pretty neat! They just nail those right on!}

{We ended the afternoon with a little time on the playground...but it ended shortly because we were all so thirsty...and Emily was getting upset with Alex because he wasn't playing fair...

It was a fun afternoon...and the summer is going entirely too fast! Alex and Emily are getting way too big {they had their yearly check-ups on Monday, and despite my constant commands that they stop growing, they went and did it anyway! Really, Alex will be eight in a couple of weeks! Stop it right now! Do you hear me!} ...sigh... anyway, I love these spontaneous days we get to spend together...every second...even the whining...I think!
