It is the playroom, though, so it's always going to be a mess...but it was beyond chaos and destruction! Sadly...I do no have a before picture {whew!} But I worked hard to get all the toys the kids don't play with off the floor, throw away old papers and put the odds and ends on the unfinished side. {Oh my, now that is another project! Do not enter door number 2!}

It was hard work, and I thought I might have given myself a hernia trying to move that old entertainment center! That thing is made of cement! {Dan would have helped me, of course...if I had asked! But when I get motivated to do something, I just do it!}
Emily and Whiskers were so excited to actually have a place to run...{that's her behind the chair trying to catch Whiskers!}

...and jump!

I hope as the kids are getting older they respect their space and will keep this cleaned up {so I don't risk any more possible hernias!} and enjoy it so much more!
Now that the winter is closing in and we start hibernating...this will make a wonderful place for Alex and Emily to hang out! And even a little place for them to hide out...

{Click here and here to see more updates on the basement!}
If you'd like to visit more of the Manor, just go here, because it probably doesn't look like that now! Thanks for stopping by!

That looks like a fun place for the kiddos to play. We have a play room, and I have to keep it clean because it is the first room you see when you come in our side door! The boys work hard at keeping it messy though!
ReplyDeleteThat is the same with our playroom/ movie room. We are down there so much in the winter, but not the spring and summer....
ReplyDeleteI love it! That is a perfect place for the kids to play. I think it looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your playroom/Basement...it is perfect and my kids would have a great time down there.
ReplyDeleteOh man, Carrie! That room is AWESOME! That's a mothers DREAM!!!! I want one. I want one!
ReplyDeleteOh awesome! I'll bet they love it. When the kids were little the basement was so big and roomy and they could play down there.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing they're older now. Since my mom moved in with us we had to give up our extra room, which is fine. But now our basement is pretty full because the exercise equipment and stuff is now in the family room instead of it's own room.
The funny thing is, my hubby likes it better in the family room, lol. But I don't.
The basement looks great Carrie. I love the kids artwork hanging on the wall. So cute!!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo for Carrie. Love the new look. I so wish we had a playroom or even a basement where the kids could have their "stuff". Great work, I am sure the kids will get hours of enjoyment (and you hours of peace and quiet) out of it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super fun room! That is awesome and I love the tent....too cool!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I envy THIS even more than the dining room! Where we live it is impossible to have a basement and when we built we didn't think we'd need a bonus room over the garage (which is quite popular around here) so now we're living with choice. We could REALLY use the space! I'd like to turn our attached garage into a play room and build a new garage, but alas...that requires more than just a plan! ;)
