Say What?

Every once in awhile, the kids say something that just strikes me as funny and makes me smile! The other day I took the kids to McDonalds for some ice cream...I was really craving a chocolate-dipped ice-cream cone! {Too bad they don't sell those any more! Bummer! I was a little upset and really wanted to yell at the speaker and say, "Then why is it still on your menu?!"} Okay...that's not the funny part, sorry!

Emily and I settled for just a plain vanilla ice-cream cone {it was still good!} and Alex just had to have a caramel sundae with Oreo cookie topping! {He is definitely my son!} On the way home he took his first bite and said in the most dramatic voice you can imagine, "OH...this is SOOOOOOOOOO goooooooood! Mmmmmmm, Mmmmmmm..." and he mumbled with a mouth full of ice cream. Then he said...and this is what was so funny to me..."Oh my gosh, this is so DELICIOUS, I might just have to marry it!"...in all seriousness! Where did he hear that? I just thought it was hilarious! Maybe you had to be there, but he cracks me up sometimes with the things he says!

I'm going to have to try this delicious sundae the next time we go to McDonalds, I guess!

Say What?

Every now and then, the things Alex and Emily say just make me chuckle! Sometimes they say things to try and make me laugh, other times they are truly serious, but I can't help but laugh.

The other day Emily tells me her friend has a pooper scooper.

I said, "She does? Sometimes people clean up their yards after their dog goes to the bathroom."

She said, "We should get a pooper scooper."

I asked her if she would clean up the poop if I got one, but she said no.

Then I said, "Well, maybe we should clean it up, because sometimes Skipper eats it." {I know so gross & inappropriate, but it's common for dogs to do that!}

Emily says, "Skipper's a pooper scooper!"

Guess we solved that dilemma!

Say what?

Yesterday Alex came home and told me about his day at school. He said his teacher is treating them like first graders now {oh they grow up too fast!} When they would come to school in the mornings she would have a name tag for the kids at each seat so they would know where to sit and how to recognize their names. Now she has taken the names away and they have been able to choose where they want to sit, but that has also become their assigned seat. So Alex informed me that he has "A science seat at school now!"

Say what?

This morning as Alex was getting ready to leave for school, Emily came up to him and said, "I'll miss you." I thought, surely she didn't say what I think she said!

So I asked, "What did you say, Emily?"

"Nothing" she said. I guess once was enough! But then when he went upstairs to tell Dan good-bye, I heard her say it again "I'll miss you, Alex." I just thought that was so sweet! Usually she will still be lying in bed watching tv when he leaves and not even acknowledge him!

The other funny thing (I thought) that Emily said was "I just saw Robama's house."

"Who?"

"ROBAMA!" she said a little slower, like I couldn't understand.
"On tv."

Oh, "Obama?" I asked. "Do you know who he is? He's the President."

She said, "I know. I remember names. And I just saw his house!"

OK, enough said.
