Ten on Ten - January

Ten photos on the tenth of the month - Happy New Year!  We survived the first week of the new year!  It's actually been pretty uneventful...just the way I like it!  The kids were lucky to ease back into school with two delayed mornings due to cold temps!  The weekend has been off to a slow, laid-back pace as well...I can really get used to this!  The cold weather just makes me want to stay under a blanket, eat and sleep!

{no. 1}
I just stepped out of the shower to Elizabeth exclaiming, "Mommy!  Abby's awake!" ...as she likes to just go and check on her...whether she's awake or not...

let's get pumped for game day!  ...IU wins!

I love finding her playing nicely...and quietly by herself.  She loves puzzles!

{no. 6}
a favorite verse on the wall... "Rise and Shine, and Give God the Glory"

{no. 7}
I had good intentions of going out today...shopping and lunch...but Elizabeth convinced me she really wanted to stay in her nightgown ...she didn't have to twist my arm for me to keep my slippers on and stay in today!

{no. 8}
we watched movies and snuggled...and I didn't fix my hair or wear any make-up! {yikes!}

{no. 9}
Alex loved playing with Thomas trains when he was little {he's six months away from being a teenager!} and I love that they are still being loved by the littles!

{no. 10}
one of the favorite additions with the house remodel was gaining a covered, front porch!  I'm looking forward to sitting here when the weather gets warmer and watching the kids play!
{...how long until Spring?}

Stay warm and enjoy your weekend!  We are ready for a possible ice storm tomorrow afternoon...yippee...
...how long until Spring?!

Abigail's 1st Birthday

It's hard to believe we celebrated Abby's First birthday already...and now she's a big one-year old!  I'm not sure how that even happened!  It's a bittersweet milestone...that stage where you stop counting the baby age in months...and simply say, "She's one."

Elizabeth was excited about the balloons and decorations...

Abby was so happy waking up to her birthday gifts...and the kids couldn't wait to start the party...

After giving Abby one of her gifts, we headed to school to enjoy donuts for breakfast with Alex and Emily!  A great start to celebrating birthday fun!
{Who's birthday is it?}

Time for cupcakes and presents!
Such a happy one-year old!
having fun after cupcakes!
ready to open presents!
everyone wants to help!

It was a nice little celebration at home and Abby loved her cupcake {lemon with pink vanilla icing} and her gifts {legos, a baby doll, sorting blocks, stuffed bunny and her favorite...musical ride-on toy!}

We also had a birthday celebration with the cousins.  We were so happy to finally have the whole family all together again!  Between the weather and busy schedules, it had been since Thanksgiving since the kids had seen their Grams, Aunt Nicole, Hunter and Paige!

cute cousins
We enjoyed lunch and ice cream at Zaharakos Ice-Cream Parlor and had fun playing at the Commons playground afterward!

The kids loved putting quarters in the old-fashioned coin piano and listening to the music!
"For me?!"
climbing to the top at the Commons
Emma & Emily made it!
"Hey Paige, where are you going?"

It was such a nice day with family!  I love birthdays, and celebrating is so much fun!  Abby may never remember her first birthday, but it was a fun day of memory making for all of us!

Especially since it was also Mother's Day!

I couldn't express enough how much I love being a mom, and how blessed and thankful that Alex, Emily, Elizabeth and Abigail call me their mom, momma, mommy, momma bear!

Happy Birthday Abby!
{and thanks for making this momma-of-four's heart full!}
