we are still experiencing some yard construction...continuing from our retaining wall de-construction/re-construction from last summer...but soon enough {fingers crossed} we will have it complete!
we have a picture of Alex when we moved into our house nine years ago in one of these similar loaders when we first started working on our yard {yes...it's been nine years in the making!} so it was only fitting to have all three kiddos in a similar shot making final completions to the yard!

it is a dirty dusty mess right now...but Dan has worked so hard putting it all together...it will be well worth our frustrations patience in the end!
friday evening we took a dip to cool off and start enjoying the weekend!
{I caught Emily sitting on the wall next to our roses while she was waiting for me to get my suit on...so of course I had to capture it!}
these series of pictures make me smile everytime I look at them! Alex said Ellie's belly looked like she was going to have a baby, ha! So he kept asking her "Are you having a baby?" and she thought it was hysterical! I love these moments!
saturday and sunday it was nothing but sunny skies and more swimming {and maybe an ounce of laundry...ahem}

but we absolutely made time to honor a very special family member, Julie {my sister-in-law's sister-in-law...follow me?} she fought a long tough battle with colon cancer...and it still weighs heavy on our hearts that this earth lost such a beautiful person almost a week ago...but gives us comfort that her body is perfect and pain free now in Heaven!
we joined Dan's sister, Janet and husband Jeff {Julie's brother} and so many others who's lives Julie touched in a special tribute to honor her by lifting off balloons to her!

sometimes I feel like enough with all the pictures...just live in the moment...stop always trying to capture it! but I'm also gently reminded...that life is beyond short...it's so important to live in each moment...but Dan was sweet to tell me on Mother's Day that he appreciates all the pictures I take {even when he's the one grumbling sometimes!}...because one day the kids will appreciate them too...and we're reminded by Julie's amazing spirit to live these days to our fullest...tomorrow is not promised...and all that some of us will have are these beautiful memories captured!
