"You're Gonna Miss This...Moment" Be My Valentine

Time to join Pam and share the moments we're going to miss one day...because life is so short! Sometimes it's hard to find those moments among our busy schedules, but that's what I love about participating in this...it makes me stop and think about it and appreciate them so much more!

Alex made sure that I knew all day long on Valentine's Day that I was his Valentine...and he was so sweet! He hugged me all day long...helped me around the house...and asked me if there was anything I needed! I couldn't have wished for a better Valentine in the world! {except Dan, too, of coure! ...wink...} I'll miss that one day when he's older and will find other Valentine's besides his Mom...boohoo!

I'll also miss these too cute little concerts that he performs in at school! Oh my goodness...this age is so sweet! There was a time {not that long ago} when he wouldn't sing or join in with his class during these musicals...and although he was as cute as a button...it didn't make for very good video when he just stood there and stared out in the crowd! This afternoon, Emily and I went to watch the first graders put on a little Valentine concert for the families... {belated because of all the snow days...and maybe even more to come...ugh!}

 

Emily and I waited in the Commons area until the show...

They sang three songs and performed three times. It was so cute...Emily and I stayed for an encore! I loved all the lollipops the kids made for Candy Man ...sigh... It was just so darn cute!

I'm really going to miss this!

I Spy...

...a tiger, a leopard, a green tree frog, and a little pink pig...

...a kitty that is gray, two dogs with spots, and a pink puppy on a little white puppy on top of one that is big...

...a red scarf on Snoopy, a green collar on Pluto, and a stuffed Cubs baseball without a bat...

...a fluffy tan dog, and one that is black, and a colorful calico Whiskers the cat!

{Alex and Emily set up all their stuffed animals on one of their snow days and they were so proud so Alex took pictures!  And later that night when I was going to clean up, I found Whiskers hanging out with all of them!  Ha!} 

Wordless Wednesday {Frosty the Snowman}

{okay...maybe a few words...I asked Alex when we started making the snowman how big to make the bottom...and his reply was "Bigger than yours!"  Ha!  I sure hope I succeeded!  Although...this year's snowman is a bit smaller/thinner than last year's...guess he needed to cut back on a few sweets too...sigh...
The kids look exactly the same!  Alex's coat is just a tad smaller and he is a tad taller, but it's almost the same picture!  I think maybe we need to reinvent our snowman...and wardrobes...a bit!
And...if you're a little tired of seeing pictures of the snow...you can count me in too!  But that's all there is around here right now!  I think we got about 8 - 10 inches this last time and have had 5 snow days...so far!  Ugh!  But it is fun to play in!  You'd think with all that snow...we could've beefed up our snowman a little more!  Until next time...}

{Tea} Time

I love watching Emily play with her stuffed animals and setting up tea parties at home... but this weekend her good friend celebrated her 6th birthday and invited a few girlfriends to a sweet genuine tea party...complete with fancy hats, gloves and all the China!

Before the girls arrived for their Tea Time...they had lots of fun making crafts...

Once they arrived, the girls found a seat and started trying on hats and gloves!

It was too cute!  I loved the little table with the mismatched chairs!

Emily finally ended up with this one {which cracked me up!}

Lunch is served...little pb&j sandwhiches and fruit...and each girl had her very own tea pot with her choice of drink!

It was such a fun and sweet party and the girls had a great time in the little store playing and dancing around...

...and the moms had fun browsing the unique gifts and antiques and 90% off of the Christmas decor!  {Yippee!}

You're {Not} Preaching to the Choir!

Today is Valentine's Day...the kids can be just as excited for Valentine's as they are for Christmas!  Emily was so happy to get a big stuffed puppy and she has loved it so much already that there is a big hole in the back with stuffing coming out...
Me:  "How did that happen?"
Emily:  "I don't know."
Me:  "What did you do?"
Emily:  {staring at me...trying to think of a good answer...} "I don't remember..."
Me:  {staring at her with raised eyebrows...}
Emily:  {Finally thinking of a good answer...}  "It came that way..."
{...sigh... good answer...giggle... but try again!}

On another note... {note...get it...choir...singing...  ahem... continue...}
Emily was so proud to sing in the choir with the big kids this morning at church!  She's such a performer...and she loves to get up and sing and dance any chance she gets! 

This is the view I had...

...she might be tiny...but she has a huge smile!

I can't believe they had a robe small enough to fit her! 

She had a great time...and it's always so cute when the kids sing!  Hopefully next year she can be a part of the choir and sing regularly! 

Alex...on the other hand is just a great supporter!  He would prefer not to be up there singing in front of the church {like me!}  But even though he wasn't going to come to the service this morning because only the preschool & Kindergarten classes were meeting and I was teaching...he still wanted to be there to watch Emily sing!  So sweet!  And he was a big helper in our class instead!
