Kelli thinks I'm Kreativ!

My blogging friend Kelli presented me with the Kreativ Blogger award! That means so much to me...especially since she's the Kreativ one! Please go visit her and her two amazingly adorable kiddos! She has lots of great inspiration from making her very own cards and sharing some yummy recipes! Thanks so much Kelli!

Now the rules are as follows {but you know I don't always play by the rules...because there are so many wonderful, creative blogs out there...you all get awards from me!}

one. I have one older sister {14 months older} and we shared a room growing up...we didn't always get along...but we are great friends now and I love her to pieces!

two. I can let the dust settle, the dishes pile up and the floor go unvacuumed for a long time...but as soon as a picture or knick knack is out of place...I immediately correct it or it will drive me crazy! My sister usually teases me when she visits and messes with all my picture frames! {but I still love her!}

three. My favorite color is green! {I love wearing green...it brings out the green in my eyes and I'm Irish...and half Polish! I think that counts as number four, too!}

five. I don't like to talk on the phone! I'm pretty impersonal, I guess, and prefer email, instead! Dan talks to his parents 3 to 4 times a week...and I talk to my mom and sister maybe 2 or 3 times in a month! But each time we talk, it's almost always over an hour!

six. Alex and Emily's first and middle names both have 5 syllables and if we were to ever have another baby, I already have a girl's name picked that would be 5 syllables too! I didn't plan that with Alex {Alexander Scott} and Emily {Emily Noelle}...but once I figured it out...how could I leave the next child out! {do you think I'm weird, yet...or did you already think that!}

seven. I love to watch reality tv! I've watched Survivor for many years, Jon & Kate + Eight {I miss them now}, The Real Housewives, The Hills, The City, The Next Design Star on HGTV, America's Next Top Model...and more...but I can't think of all of them! I also love watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy with the kids!

I ♥ Faces - Week 48 "Sweet Dreams"

I ♥ Faces is a photography site focused on the art of capturing faces and their various emotions. Each week, people from across the world have the opportunity to enter their favorite face photos into two categories ~ kids and adults, and sometimes pets!

I just love when my kids are sleeping, don't you? Well, I mean your kids...and so does I ♥ Faces! This week the challenge is to capture your sleeping beauty sweet dreaming! So...once again I've chosen Emily...because she loves to sleep! And not without her blankie...or her thumb...{sigh}...


...I just hope she breaks this habit before college! But for now, I will cherish it, because it's too sweet!

Cold as Ice

This weekend was definitely cold! We brrrr-aved the cold temperatures Saturday night to enjoy the Festival of Lights parade in town! There were over eighty floats and I took so many pictures...my fingers felt like ice cubes!

I think my feet are still thawing out tonight...after standing out in the cold during the parade...and watching Emily during her ice-skating lesson...





...ending the weekend with a girl's day out to Disney on Ice!

It was a fun weekend on ice...cold...and sometimes freezing...but we'll always have some wonderful warm memories! {I know...so completely sappy...but definitely memorable!}

{And... in honor of my traditional Not Me! Monday post which I didn't do this week...I did not enjoy stalling in all the Colts traffic near the stadium on the way to the Ice show feeling the excitement of their next win!...

...nor did I take 296 pictures this weekend! Whew!}

"You're Gonna Miss This...Moment" Leaving Their Mark

Time to join Pam and share the moments we're going to miss one day...because life is so short! Sometimes it's hard to find those moments among our busy schedules, but that's what I love about participating in this...it makes me stop and think about it and appreciate them so much more!

The days are going by so fast I actually had to stop and think this morning what day it was! Wow! Where did this week go? The Holidays really have me stressed and hurried this year. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this time of year and shopping and wrapping and decorating, but I've been so busy coming and going that I've forgotten to take a few moments to enjoy those little moments I'm going to miss all too soon!

One of the places I had to stop during my coming and going was to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies for a craft the kids wanted to do again this year...reindeer shirts. We've done this for a couple of years thanks to my friend Carmen, who moved recently to Tennessee. We miss this tradition with her and wish we could still be together for this fun time! {Miss you Carmen!} Alex and Emily truly allow me to enjoy the Holiday Spirit and I'm so blessed to have their energy around all the time {remind me of that the next time I take them to Hobby Lobby with me!} They picked out the stamps, paint colors and a few extra things we didn't need, of course!




They loved getting their hands and feet all painted and customizing their shirts! {I think they may have turned out better if we had Carmen's help, but we still had fun!}



{and if you can't tell what these blobby figures are supposed to be...their foot prints are the reindeer's face, their hands are the antlers and a string of lights around the antlers!}

That is what I'll miss someday...their little hand prints and foot prints. They won't care to join in these little crafts for much longer and their hands just keep getting bigger and bigger! I found a picture recently that Emily made me in preschool two years ago that makes me cherish those marks even more...

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.

But everyday I'm growing-
I'll be grown up someday
And all those tiny hand prints
Will surely fade away

So here's a final hand print
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.

{...sniff, sniff...sob...}

So although I get frustrated at those windows getting smudged with little fingerprints and sticky marks on the doorknobs...I will miss them leaving their little marks {remind me of that when I open a door and get jelly all over my hand!}...because they won't be there forever!
