Zoo {baby}

This weather has been amazing finally!  I thought August was supposed to be the hottest month of the summer...but this summer has been backwards from the beginning!  The highs right now have been 81 and 82 degrees so we took full advantage of being outside and headed to the zoo yesterday!

We try and go at least once during the summer and I'm so glad the weather cooperated for us since there are only a few days left of it!  {boo!}

I was excited to go see this little {baby} too... only three weeks old...

OMGoodness!  How cute is she?!  She stayed right next to her momma the whole time, never leaving her side...

{sounds like someone else I know!}

I love the elephants...they're so big and lumbering {is that a word?  okay...it is, I just looked it up...it can also mean hulking, large, massive...that's what I was going for! ...anyway...}

We also saw lions...

tigers...

and bears...

{sorry...I can never resist that reference!}

And of course we visited all the other usual zoo life too!

awww...another sweet big {baby}!

I always get a picture of the rhinos...even though they are kinda boring and just look like big rocks!

And the monkeys...oops!  Just kidding!

And splash time!

Emily made sure she played in the water first this time...and not last like she did last year...so she wouldn't ruin this face!

She loves getting her face painted...and couldn't resist being a calico cat...what a surprise!

Ellie did such a great job to her first trip to the zoo!  We were there for almost four hours and she only fell asleep as we were walking out to the parking lot!  She didn't want to miss any of it!

{eww...except these...I could've missed these...a little creepy!}

But not the walrus or the sea lions...they are so fun to watch swimming under water!  I could watch that all day! 

The dolphin show is always a hit!

{even though I always end up with blurry pictures...and it didn't help having an active baby in my lap!}

It was such a beautiful day and so much fun!

We didn't want the day to end!

We certainly don't want this awesome weather to end either!  After we got home...Emily begged to pick a sunflower that has been randomly growing in our yard...

...I hated to see it go...but I couldn't resist using it to show off her cute little cat face either...before it had to end too before bedtime came...

And Emily and Elizabeth had fun with their new stuffed animals from the zoo...
Emily got another cat...cheetah... and Elizabeth got an ellie-phant...ha! {that was Emily's joke!}

Ellie laughed so hard because we would laugh every time when Alex set her baby elephant in front of her...and she would just take it and toss it aside...then look at us...and giggle!

 I think this {baby} is going to miss these two when school starts!

{oh Summer....please don't go!}
