Cheering {4} the Team

Another busy week...gone.  We haven't been doing much...

...just some of this...

...okay a lot of this...

Alex and Emily are in full swing {pun intented, ha!} of baseball season now...and they are both number 4!  Alex had his number first...and Emily wanted to be just like him, so she was able to choose the same number....aren't they cute!

They both played their first games this week...and although they don't truly keep score at this age...I'm not sure either of their teams won...but they played so well and had a good time!  I love watching them!

The weather was perfect for Alex's game.  It was warm and sunny and in the evening.  Great for hot dogs and a Diet Coke!

Emily's game...however...was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g...brrr!  It was bright and early for pictures Saturday morning at 8am and then game following.  Although I had my beloved Diet Coke...I couldn't drink it...because my hands were already like ice cubes.  I think the temperature was only 50 degrees!  {I did stop for a hot chocolate afterwards, though!}

{Poor thing...by this time she was so cold she could barely hold the bat...but she did great!  Such a champ!}

Awesome job Alex and Emily!  So this is what we'll be doing for the rest of the season...we'll be cheering for #4! 

...and a little bit of this too...of course...

The weather did reach the 80's mid week...so Emily and I were able to hang out by the pool a little bit...

...oh yeah...and I definitely can't forget to squeeze in some time for this...

...a nap is a must to keep up with our schedule!

{Chalk} Up Another One!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week...and I've had these little tin buckets and garden stakes for awhile knowing that Alex and Emily would give them to their teachers this week.  So Emily picked out the flowers and we planted them and thought they were ready to go...
...but they looked a little boring...

...so, of course Kelli always has the best ideas!  {Check out her creativity here!  And stop by Mimi's too...I love her fun little flower pots too!}  I went down to the basement and grabbed my chalkboard paint {I love this stuff!} and scraped some more out of the bottom and embellished them a little bit more...

{...and, of course, the Cricut helped a little too!} 

Let's hope the teachers can keep the flowers alive better than I can...they were already looking a little sad!  I also have a gift card and other little goodies to add...just in case their thumb isn't so green either!  So...here we are...the last day of the week {I always wait until the last minute!}...but we truly appreciate our teachers, they do an amazing job!  Seriously...just volunteering once a week can be overwhelming! 

Be sure to thank your teachers this week...they deserve it!

Snuggling, Swimming, and a Strike Out

This weekend started with 3am thunderstorms, lots of lightning and heavy downpours.  It was the perfect morning to sleep in, stay in our pj's and do lots of snuggling...

I may have slept away the afternoon on Saturday...but it was the perfect day to do it!  We've needed a weekend just like this for a long time!  I'm still doing laundry 'till the cows come home...haven't seen any...guess I still have lots to do!  ...sigh...

Then...as I decided to roll my behind out from under the covers...I was able to get outside to see all the fun Alex and Emily were having for the first swim of the season!  Yippee!  It wasn't sunny out, but they sure didn't mind!  They were having the best time on such a dreary day...

They didn't get to swim for long because Alex had his very first baseball game of the season and team pictures to get to!  But...with all the rain we had that morning...it was a strike out!

And look how much he's grown!  This is his first baseball practice last year...those are the same pants he's wearing this year...they're so much smaller!  ...sigh...  He looked so little just a year ago...but still same game face!}

{We weren't too disappointed...well...maybe Dan was...once we got there, we realized Alex forgot his mitt.  Dan drove all the way back home while they were getting their pictures taken...came back and realized there was no game...then all the way back home we went!}

...for more swimming of course!  Woo hoo!  Cannonball!

It was a nice, relaxing weekend...for a change...and probably the last one we'll get for awhile! 

Now...about that laundry...
