{Sweater} Weather

Yippee...the weather is wonderful right now!  {except maybe for the gloomy rain...but we complained about not having it all summer...so I guess it's okay!}

I don't have alot of places to go or people to see...so I don't dress up...but I love throwing on a cozy cardigan in all colors this time of year!  ...with jeans...sweats...skirts...sweats...yeah, I wear alot of sweats!

And how cute is this little sweater?

Oh...too cute!  Ellie is getting so big...so fast!  But I love that she can still wear her summer dresses with little leggings and a sweet sweater! 

It's also a great time to hide my chipped, unpedicured toes slip on some super cute flats...

...and fun boots...

Emily has been waiting weeks to wear her new boots!  She asks nearly every day...even when it was 100 degrees outside!  Now...she may be wearing them every single day!

...yeah...summer's over...

...yeah...that's our pool right now...it's a long, sad, sad story...

...basically...the retaining wall...isn't retaining...so every single block is being taken down one. at. a. time...and put back one. at. a. time...again.  {...sigh...}

...but we're confident it will look like this again... by next summer!

But I do love this time of year!

Wordless Wednesday {What's For Dinner?}

{I almost got by Wordless...but I can't help but mention  how awesome Alex and Emily are at being big siblings!  They played with Ellie in the basement for well over an hour...and Emily finally comes up to tell me to come look at Ellie!  They are so fun! 
...and what you can't see...or hear...is Alex playing the drums off to the side!  Ellie never has a dull moment...except maybe when she is left alone with me...ha!}

{End} of Summer

The summer pretty much ended when the school year started...which seems like a million years ago...but has only been a mere few weeks...but Labor Day is really the end of summer around here.  {boo!}

And with the temperatures near a 100 degrees on Saturday...and only highs in the 70's for the rest of the week...it's the perfect transition from Summer to Fall!  {yippee!}


We had a wonderful day closing out the summer with family at the Lodge in Brown County on Saturday swimming and hiking!
{well...I retired my swimsuit weeks ago...but the kids had a blast swimming!}

It was a gorgeous day...and a great time!  The kids are just growing up so fast...we appreciate these moments to get together with family!

That night...and into the next day...was filled with lots...and lots of rain...but it was much needed!  And we all needed the day to lounge around in our jammies and nap...it was wonderful!

After the rain stopped...we finally got dressed and took our daily evening walk!  I will be really sad when the weather gets too cold for this...but for now...it is perfect!

We have gotten to know some of the dogs in the neighborhood we walk in...and we think these twins are so cute...but we can't get too close, because their bark may be meaner than their bite...and we don't want to find out!

We ended the day with movie night...we finally finished our Narnia trilogy...so good!  I remember reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in middle school, and it's been fun to watch the movies!

I love long weekends and I love that fall is in the air!  It's been a great summer and this was a great way to end it!  {Anyone have any good movie suggestions?  I think we will be spending alot of time in here as the weather gets colder!}
