We love going to Nashville...and have never tried this...and Alex and Emily had so much fun!
They each got a bucket to sift through to discover fun rocks and gems and they even found some gold!
Elizabeth knows how to have a good time...but still always seems to miss it!
It was extremely hot...again...but when they finished sifting through their buckets...they went back for more! They didn't seem to feel the beads of sweat covering their faces!
They each found an arrowhead...among so many other very cool rocks!
They are already planning their next trip back to do it again!
Even though we could've looked for rocks and gems all day...we haven't gone to Nashville yet without visiting the sock store to pick out stuffed animals...
{I've completely lost count as to how many Emily has collected...but it's just part of our tradition of going. So we're either going to have to quit going...or find more space in her room for all of them...and I think I know which it's going to be...}
{And even though Alex seems too grown up and too cool for stuffed animals...I was pleasantly surprised when he wanted to choose one this time too! He said he just likes to have them in his room...I like to think that he's just still a little kid!}
We had pizza for lunch...and what else for dessert?
Of course...what else on a hot hot day?! And I could've eaten more than that after walking in here and seeing...and smelling all these goodies! A sweet tooth's dream come true! {drool}
Um...yum!
I did resist, however...but only had a few bites of the kids' ice-cream, and let them each pick out three pieces of salt water taffy!
We ended our afternoon stopping to visit the glass shop {I know...crazy place to take 3 small children!} but they love watching the guy blow the glass with fire and turn it into some amazing sculpture! Really cool!
{I told them we should come back and get a Christmas ornament for our tree...they are beautiful! But I'm so afraid the cats or Elizabeth will break it when it comes time to hang it on the tree!}
And I couldn't help but get a few snapshots of the charm that I just love about this little town!
{another tradition is getting Slushies at our favorite popcorn shop!}
{I loved all these colorful flowers and wanted so bad to snatch up a whole bunch of them...but didn't really know where I'd put them! And I may have threatened the kids to be careful on these rocking chairs...because they would've only cost a mere $325 to replace if anything happened to them!}
{the cute little puppet theater that we visit during Halloween... we missed the summer show by a few days...shoot! so Alex is our entertainment until Fall!}
It was a really great day...and I wish we could hold onto these moments so much longer! I love making these memories with my little {rock} stars... and I hope they always remember them too!
