{Snow} What Fun!

We had another snowy weekend...and our first school delay already...a 2-hour delay in the morning.

Emily has missed two more days of school last week with another fever that won't quit and a cough...but you tell me...does she look sick to you?

Ha!  It's really frustrating...she really seems fine and dandy during the day...but she keeps waking up in the middle of the night with a burning hot fever...so I suppose we'll be at the doctor again in the morning as long as there is a school delay! 

But at least she is still able to have a little bit of fun...right!

I really wanted to go out and have fun with them sledding too...but technically, I don't think my body's ready for that yet...and somebody else was not happy that she wasn't getting my attention...

Good grief...if you could only hear her! 

She got over it though...

She just needed a little snuggle time with mommy!

After having an awesome time on their new sleds that rock {Alex's words!}... Alex and Emily wanted to work on a 1000 piece puzzle that we bought earlier in the day... anticipating that we will need something fun to keep us busy over Christmas break during this frigid cold!

And what better way to end the day outside in the cold than baking yummy warm sugar cookies...and making a huge mess!

We had flour everywhere!

We usually make the pre-cut shaped frozen cookies...which we still will closer to Christmas...but I had a bag of sugar cookie mix...and Alex said this was a much more fun way to make cookies...I agree...

...but man...we sure did make a mess!  Oh well!

The great thing is that Alex and Emily have been chatting with Santa's helpers via email...and checking if they've been naughty or nice on Santa's scale...so when Santa says they've not been too bad...and that they need to keep their rooms clean and keep up with their chores...the clean up went well!  {I love this time of year!  ha!}

Wordless Wednesday {Tootsie Rolls}

{Elizabeth's} First Snow

Today has been such a beautiful, quiet day...so far! 

We woke up to our first big snowfall of the season and it's always so exciting for the kids to get out there and play!

We had warm cinnamon rolls for breakfast...and the kids went out as soon as they were finished! 

And of course...Elizabeth had to get out for a little bit too!

She even tried to make her first snow angel...ha!

The snow is still falling...and we are loving it!  We have not even turned the tv on today...we are just enjoying a peaceful lazy day!  At least until Elizabeth has something to say about it!

Elizabeth Ann - November 29th

Alex and Emily were so excited to meet her after school!

She is so sweet!  And tiny...she is like holding a loaf of bread!

Emily has been one proud big sister!

Elizabeth had her first bath tonight and Emily wanted to make sure they wore their matching snowman jammies!

They look like twins, don't they?  Ha!

She really does love her little sister!

Alex is a pretty happy big brother too!  He asked me if we were going to have 3 more babies!  Um...no...but I think he adores being the biggest!  He is very helpful and wants to carry her around!

The first night we were home, she proved that tiny can be mighty!  She cried alot!  But has been great after that.  She slept a three-hour stretch last night and alot during the day.  

Let's hope that tonight proves to be even better!

Not only are we glad to finally have Elizabeth with us... Alex and Emily are loving having Grammy here too!  They play games and cards and eat lots of snacks!  Ha!  And she has helped out so much!

We are so happy and thrilled to have little Elizabeth home... and are so blessed that our family feels complete!
