{Fall}ing in Love

I love, love love this time of year!  I've been decorating for fall and halloween and it always feels so warm and cozy.  Although it's a little more minimal than last year...it's still fun to have the lights, pumpkins and ghosts about...and there's still time to add to it!

{I've already filled the candy jar a couple of times!  I love candy corn...darn it!}

I love the happy halloween blocks...{from Target of course!}

...and the glow of jack 'o lanterns...

The weather is finally cooler...and it's really feeling like fall now!
...and a few yummy fall aromas in the air make it even more perfect...

...and the smell of Dan's favorite cookies {the one thing he loves this time of year!}...
Pumpkin Cookies

1 1/4 C margarine
3 C sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 - 16 oz can of pumpkin
12 oz bag of chocolate chips
6 C flour
3 tsp of cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
3 tsp of baking soda
1 1/4 tsp of cream of tartar

- Cream margarine and sugar
- Stir in eggs, pumpkin, chocolate chips and mix well
- Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl
- Gradually stir in dry ingredients into pumpkin mixture and mix well
- Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet
- Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes - Don't overbake

I can smell them already...I think I will make these for my birthday {tomorrow!} instead of cupcakes!

{...and don't let her expression fool you...Snowball is thrilled beyond words for fall too!}
...love the leaves changing color, warm sweaters, and a warm cozy fire too!

What do you love about Fall?

  2. Your decorations are so cute. I realized this year that I don't have a lot of decorations (hmmm...do I see a little shopping in my future). I think I might have missed out on the pumpkin soaps though and I'm so sad. I knew I should have run right out as soon as I saw them. I love Fall, Halloween, apple cider, hay rides, the leaves changing, coolers temps and pumpkin food!

  3. Your decorations are GREAT! Bet the kids really enjoy Halloween at your house. :)
    Have you tried the chocolate candy corn? Oh my. And the caramel apple candy corn, too. Goodness. I wish they'd stop making the stuff before I gain 100 pounds! I keep it in a chicken feeder on the island in the kitchen. :)
