After seeing Kelli's birthday banner and all the other cute things she makes...I just casually decided to walk down the scrapbook aisle at Walmart to merely look at it...and it just ended up in my cart when I checked out! So I had to get it...right? {Don't answer that!}
I slept on it for just one day...before I decided to open it up and try it out! It's so much fun...and the kids love it too! Emily immediately started making her Valentine's cards with it...

Alex, of course, went right to work as soon as he got home from school...he is a master of all things with controls!
{He really likes his teacher...that's a huge Valentine!}
{and little puzzle pieces for his friends!}
{okay Cricut...you can stay! You've definitely become an instant member of the family...we love you!}
...And what about this...
I'm not an animal-print kind of person...but for some reason I really liked this little brown zebra pillow! So...somehow it came home with me too and ended up on my couch! Welcome Home, little friend...I {heart} pillows!
{Hopefully it will not bring home any cheetah or leopard pillows to join it! I think this is all the animal print I need...for now!}
And...I'm not at all responsible for this...but I'm pretty sure Dan did not have this on his list...{or maybe it's been on his mental wish list for awhile}...but I didn't know about it until he said he was going to go get it!
And because of it...we are now painting the family room! {Yay...but ugh!} I will show you more about that when we're all done! I thought the minor Manor makeover was finished...but I guess it never will be!
Maybe we should just stick to our list next time...but there are lots of exciting things to keep us busy for the weekend now!
The good news is...that I even had a list at all! So, believe it or not, I actually bought groceries too! Taco Pizza, Potato & Corn Chowder and Pizza Casserole with garlic bread are on the menu this week...but I'm not sure everyone's as excited about that...{Alex is not a fan of eating new things!} Hey...I never claimed to being a cook...or a crafty person...or a decorator...{none of those}...but if you shop with me...you're probably going to end up with something not on your list...I do claim to be a compulsive shopper...{gulp!}
You Wild Woman! I love that hint of wildness on your couch. So cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat cartridges did you pick up or your Cricut? I'm always curious to see which ones are worth the money. Gotta be careful, Cricut stuff can be costly and addicting ;)
The cricut has been on my list too for a few years....your kind of motivating me to get one. The problem...I spent a little too much at Wal Mart yesterday on just essentials!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I have heard about the cricut. What fun for the kids! Can't wait to she what you crank out! Have enough fun for me! Don't get any paint in your hair!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a cricut. Looks like too much fun! I can only imagine...
ReplyDeleteAlso, these photos are all awesome! Your kid's valentine cards turned out so cute! I would have been thrilled to get that giant one from one of my students when I was teaching! Too cute.
Also, I am not an animal print person either but that zebra print pillow really spices things up on your couch and looks great! Love it.
p.s. they (Craft Hope) still have not sent me your address from paypal to get your pear pillow out. i really want to get it to you so i don't know if you just want to give me your address and i'll let them know that it is being sent or if i should keep waiting??? any thoughts?
Whoo hoo! I'm so excited for you and I know it will fit right into your family. My kids LOVE it and it is really easy for them to use. I need a new cartridge though. Maybe I should go down the same aisle you did and one will jump into MY cart, wink! And yes, Alex does really love his teacher...wow.
ReplyDeleteYay! for the new Cricut! I can't wait to see what all you make...I need some more inspiration to use mine! Their Valentines are so cute...I really like the puzzle pieces! I have that exact same pack of cardstock too:)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the pillow! I am not much on animal prints either, but I almost came home with two awesome zebra print chairs a few weeks ago...I decided against it though, I didn't think Jason would like them as much as I did!
I LOVE the pillow...I'm not an animal print fan either but it really is a great accent piece. Good think I totally shun walmart...you had some great finds!
ReplyDeleteI think THIS Kelli needs a Cricut, too! :) Looks like a ton of fun! I absolutely LOVE the Valentines the kids made! Very creative.
ReplyDeleteAnd the pillow is a keeper. :)
I love my cricut too. It is so handy dandy. Cute pillows! WE would not be a good shopping duo. I am compulsive too and I love a good sale. NOt a good combo. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE my Cricut machine. I have had mine for over 2 years now and am begging Roy to get me the new and improved version. I love the cards the kids are making. Very crafty!! Miss ya!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!! I love the cards... so sweet! And the pillow is PERFECTION! Just the right amount of flare! ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings-
Amanda
I love the hint of animal on the sofa...I have one 'animal' pillow in my house too.
