"You're Gonna Miss This...Moment" Afternoons at Home

As Alex begins to wrap up his first year in Kindergarten {hopefully his only year!} and as Emily finishes up her final year at preschool...I'm going to miss the afternoons that we get to spend together. Because Alex is in a half-day morning class, we've enjoyed the afternoons to have lunch, play outside, go shopping, ice-skating, tennis, or just do nothing at all and hang out at home!

Emily will also be in morning Kindergarten in the Fall, so I'll get to spend that cherished time with her, but with Alex gone all day, I can't help but feel that we will miss that time he's not here! {Although, I also can't help but think how quiet it might be, too!} Alex and Emily are great friends and really do miss each other when one of them is not around, but I know it will just be another change that we'll adjust to, and also look forward to!

They are growing up so fast, and learning so much...I'm going to miss spending time with my 'babies'! I guess I'll spend my afternoons catching up on all that laundry that keeps multiplying upstairs...and telling the dust bunnies to take a hike...and maybe clean out the old french fries under my car seat...yeah, my afternoons are still looking promising!

Join in these precious moments by visiting Pam, and don't forget to tell us what you will miss someday!

  1. I will miss those days too, because right now Stunt Man is still home with me. Next year it will be only in the afternoons and then after that he will be gone all day. BOO HOO! They do grow up fast.
Great pictures..your kids are so cute!

  2. Sitting her wondering if I will miss that? I am trying to think i will... right now I am thinking... well... i want to miss them while they are in school!!! :) jadon will be in ALL DAY kindergarten next year, and kiahna will be in morning preschool 4 days... I'll leave off the exclamation point so I appear to be grieving that... ;)

  3. Sob...you almost have me in tears over here. Just another reminder that my little one will be in preschool before I know it.

Was Emily 4 when you put her in preschool? I am trying to figure out all of the ages and cut-off dates - and I'm thinking that I might want to wait another year for Savannah.

  5. Great moment to post about. I'm sure you will miss when your boy is not around in the afternoons, but I think you will find ways to cherish it with your daughter. Then when he gets home, you'll cherish that time with him.

Yes, you have good taste in blog backgrounds. LOL :-) Very nice. I really like the picture you chose for your header.

  7. They are growing up way too fast my friend! Why does it have to happen that fast? Mine will turn 12 in May and I am still trying to figure out how that happened. I remember that first day of kindergarten like it was yesterday. But hopefully that will help us to remember to try to enjoy it while we can!

    Take care my friend!
Hope you have a great Monday!
