Today is the official 'Spring Forward' time change...and we don't adjust well! It's amazing how one hour really makes all the difference! We attended another great birthday party today, hosted by our adorable friend Abby! So much fun painting pottery!
Emily was tuckered out after we got home that she even fell asleep on the couch minus her blankie! She is seriously like Linus from the Peanuts! Although she claims to be a big girl at 5 now, blankie doesn't leave her side. Having that nap really made it hard for her to go to bed tonight! The kids went to bed about 8:30 tonight (but really 7:30, right). Alex was up once, but fell asleep fine after that, but Emily on the other hand, was up several times! I even let her eat chips with me while I watched Desperate Housewives! I know... I didn't want to miss anything, and she looked at me with her big, brown eyes saying, "I'm hungry." What would you do! On a commercial break, I took her back to her room. This went on until about 10pm and finally I hadn't seen her in awhile. I heard footsteps about 10:30, but no one ever showed up, so I thought maybe I was hearing things, like the wind about to blow the house away!
I finally decide I need to go to bed, it's an early morning for all of us, so I turn lights off, check the locks and head upstairs ready to slumber....and find not one, but two little ones in our bed! They looked so peaceful and comfortable, I didn't have the heart to move them back to their beds. Apparently the footsteps I heard before were from them sneaking into my bed! So where do I go? I ended up on the living room couch because I figured I wouldn't oversleep if Dan saw me there when he left for work! But I can't sleep either! It's now past midnight! But really it's only 11pm!
It will take awhile to get used to the time change! I am not a fan.
Oh man...I do hate the time change too, it really gets my kids all out of whack. Hope that you get some sleep tonight.
