Party like you're 5!

Today was Emily's big birthday bash with friends and family. It was such a fun day, but a little overwhelming on my end!










Alex and Emily helped me make her popstar pants cake yesterday and they loved it! I need to let them help more with cooking and baking, because it is so much fun! The best part, of course, is licking the batter! They are really great helpers!




They woke up this morning excited to get the party started! It seemed like forever before one'o-clock would come! I love watching the kids wait by the door to see who the first guest will be. I'm not even sure exactly how many kids were here today, maybe 16, but I worried about where everyone was going to go. It turned out wonderful! The magician was very entertaining and funny. Watching the kids in amazement was priceless. I was amazed myself! How do they get the rings connected and then separated just by throwing them in the air? Incredible! Emily was the assistant today and she loved waving the magic wand around making bunnies multiply and turning a balloon into a real bunny! So cute!

Despite a few cupcakes ground into the carpet, it was a memorable birthday bash! Emily received some wonderful gifts, and her guests were all so excited to have her open the gift they brought for her! I'm not sure how many times I asked the kids to step back and give Emily space to open her presents! They get so excited! A huge thanks to everyone who made it a success and helped me clean up! I am extremely thankful for my friends and family! It's not a party without them!

Since Emily has turned 5, she is able to do just about anything! She will say things like, "When I was 4, I couldn't do that, but now I can, because I'm 5!"
