So we go out and pry the training wheels off her old bike and pump up the tires and off we go... And she actually takes off pretty good! It was very sweet for Alex to get excited for her too and try to help out!
He also helped me out by commemorating the moment with pictures {thanks for the view of the backside!}
She has no fear, and did not want to give up...and it paid off! She still needs practice, but she's really got the hang of it already! She is definitely independent and didn't need my help before long! Go Emily!
Ok, Alex's turn. Let's just say, I will need a little more patience with him! He is so much like me when it comes to his anxiety and being a little more timid when trying new things. He gave it a great shot, but we called it a day after a few spills and will keep going at it! I know he'll get it! Great job big Al!
They are growing up quickly, though! I remember when they just started riding their tricycles!
{which was Dan's old tricycle, too! Awww, I'm sure he looked just like Alex did on it!}
Oh how much fun! What a great memory! Looks like she did a great job. I'm sure brother will want to follow suit before long.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed my stay here! It's always nice meeting new blog friends!
Woohoo! What a way to start off Spring Break. A little practice and by the end of the break they'll be signed up for a bike race, right?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day...
That is so AWESOME! Go Emily!
ReplyDeleteMy soon to be 5 yr old wants no part of it. I mentioned it the other day and he almost had a panic attack. He is not my dare devil. That would be my 2 yr old, she would probably try to ride her brothers bike without training wheels if she could reach the peddles.
It's amazing how different sibilings can be.
I keep meaning to email you but never get around to it, but I will soon. Things are crazy around here right now.
Anyway take care!
Hi, Carrie! It's so nice to meet a new bloggy friend. Your children are GORGEOUS! What little blessings. Thanks for stopping by my blog; I will definitely be back to yours. Enjoy the abundant blessings of the LORD today! May you be filled with His joy! Love, Heather
ReplyDeleteThis is great Carrie. Way to go Emily and keep trying Alex. I love the pics of them on Dan's tricycle. That is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Aubrey
Wow. I remember when both of my boys learned to ride without training wheels. With my older one I let go and he sailed forward on his own, until he noticed I wasn't holding on and then he freaked and fell off...hehehe!
ReplyDeleteMy younger one was rather timid and didn't like to try new things and did not like change at all, but he is better now that he's 15. Still shy though.
Oh, my Goodness! She is doing it! My Maya still can't get the bike cocept even with training wheels. I have no idea what's up with that, anyway, great job Emily. All the pics and the video, so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but when I was younger (like in my teens and 20s) I would have chosen the shoes! I guess after the kids came I went more practical!
