Back on track

Monday morning is back, and hopefully that means back to our normal routine too! Everyone was up and ready to go back to school, hopefully for a full week this time! Alex was the first one at his bus stop today, and he said "There's nobody there. I don't think I have school today." and started to head back! I reassured him that there was school and to keep walking!

I volunteered in Alex's class today and it was so nice to see all the kids after such a long break! They were definitely wound up, though! They finally were able to celebrate their 100th day! They played games and made crafts to celebrate the number 100 and my station today was a game to see who could get to 100 first. They each had a sheet of paper with squares numbered from 1 to 100 and they rolled a dice. They colored in the number of squares each time with the number they rolled. And, these kids are competitive! If they rolled a 1, they would hurry up and roll again to get a higher number! There was definitely some 'cheating' going on! They would look at me and say things like, "That didn't roll, it just scooted across the table!" and "I wasn't ready to drop it, yet!"

Then, the best thing about the morning was I was able to squeeze in time to get a new camera! Circuit City is going out of business, so I was able to get a good deal on a new best friend named Sony and some accessories! She will be a welcomed member to our family!

After school we had lunch and headed to Walmart, not my favorite place to shop, but so convenient! My mom always shopped there when we were kids and I didn't think that I would EVER shop there again! Things change when you're the parent, I guess! Emily loves going there, however, because she knows that there is a styling 'salon' inside. So I let her get her hair cut, since she's been asking me every day! Luckily for her, I have a new best friend to commemorate the moment! She was more than happy to take pictures today, showing me some of her ballet positions and dance moves!

It's another beautiful February day and the kids are outside playing. There's still PLENTY of Spring cleaning to do, but we're enjoying the sunshine and getting some much needed fresh air! Hopefully we can get back on track this week!

Now, time for a rest...

  1. Emily's hair looks good. We enjoyed being outside today too. Gabriel is planning on riding his bike to school tomorrow because it is "so warm".
