Weekend Wrap-ups

Well...two more weekends have come and gone already!  If anyone has that magic clock that can stop time...I'd sure love to borrow it for just a few days!

The last few weekends have been full of projects...

...getting new carpet throughout the house meant lots of painting and rearranging, but I think we've finally got things in some sort of order...
...pre-carpet...
...how many things can we cram into the non-carpeted rooms?!

...but well worth the mess and stress of moving it all around...
...Emily and Alex moved their furniture around just a bit too...which makes everything seem new...

...the hole in the kitchen wall...{thanks to a leaky pipe}...patched and painted...as good as new!
What hole?

...new landscaping planted...

...school projects, ice-skating, beautiful mornings, re-fueling with Starbucks and Steak 'n Shake...
Emily preparing for her Olympic project for school with a captive audience!

Miss Independent..."no" she says when I ask if I can help carry her baby seat into ice-skating
early-morning cruise
s'mores shake to treat ourselves after a long day
Our weekends were not all full of work...we enjoyed a beautiful evening hike in Brown County last Saturday to get this cooped up family outside to take in the gorgeous fall-like weather!
the apple of her daddy's eye
Ready to hike, "Wait up!"

Collecting just the right rocks for skipping!
A touch of Fall
Watching and listening to serveral hummingbirds chirp and buzz in this meadow of flowers
Savoring a quick moment as Ellie reaches up for my hand...before she is off again on her own.
It was a wonderful evening hiking, skipping rocks, climbing trees, enjoying all the sights and sounds of nature, and watching the sun set.  We treasure our weekends together, and a small trip to Brown County is always a memorable one.

This past Saturday we were excited to cheer on the Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium!  Nothing says Fall than a perfect cool night watching college football, eating popcorn, and listening to a marching band!
Ready to cheer on the Hoosiers!
Heading to The Rock- Always remembering Coach Hep
Popcorn & Pigtails!
Ready for some football!
So excited!
Alex's airplane made from a popcorn box and pom-pom streamers!
Watching all the bands at halftime
Such a gorgeous night!

I know the projects and home improving are never-ending...but the rewards of checking them off the list sure do feel good!

So in the meantime...we continue to make lots of family memories...
Exploring in the yard, finding sticks, mushrooms and interesting insects...

looking cute after Emily got her all dressed!

...try to catch up on as much lost sleep as possible...
sleeping off a slight fever
sleepover with mommy after a late-night
...didn't quite make it to dinner...

...waiting for a late-night storm to pass...
...and add just one more thing to the list!

Happy Monday!
