this little piggy{tail} went to the fair!

As summer tradition would have it...we made our annual visit to the county fair yesterday!  It's a small town fair...but it's perfect for us...just our speed...big enough crowd...funnel cakes...and fast, spinning rides!  {the only thing that I truly enjoy are the funnel cakes!  okay...of course I love seeing the kids' faces as they're spinning themselves crazy on the rides!}

Emily and I tried pig tails in Ellie's hair for the first time too...and she looked pretty cute!

She wasn't too sure about them at first...but she got used to them and left them in the entire evening...so glad she wore her {piggies} to the fair!

{...sigh... love those curly curls and chubby cheeks...wish I could freeze them forever!}

Finally...a ride just her size!

She had a great time going around in that little truck!  And I'm so glad Emily was eager to ride with her so I didn't have to squeeze in there!

Unfortunately...once the ride ended...and it was time to get in line for the bigger rides...she was not a happy camper to stay back and watch anymore...

But Alex and Emily took a few more spins and twirls before it was time to go...

We didn't even make it to the barns to see the animals...but I was okay with that!  We ran into some friends who gave us some extra tickets...and Emily was lucky enough to go home with one of her friends to stay over night!  It was another fun and memorable night at the fair...hot, dirty, eating food that is so bad for you...but tastes so good, and watching the kids be kids and having a great time soaking up summer!  Until next year...
