Being a mom is pretty tough...and there are a lot of days when I feel like I was the wrong person picked for this job! But there are so many more days when I feel so incredibly blessed being the one chosen to witness their laughs, excitement, joys, disappointments, sadness and all the moments in between when I am just in awe of the things they continuously teach me and inspire me. Makes me all choked up with happiness!
And I'm so thankful for Great-Grandma Martha who inspires all the moms in the family too!
We were fortunate to have her, Dan's mom and my sister-in-law over to celebrate this special day!
{...with food and treats...of course!}
It was a little dreary outside, but it didn't stop the cousins from swimming!
Ellie was giving us smiles from the inside...
...until she finally joined us outside...
It was a great Mother's Day! Not only did I get to spend it with these amazing moms...
...but I was also able to sleep in...after Emily snuck into our room around 4:00am to leave me my Mother's Day gift that she made at school, and I told her thank you and to go back to bed and get some more sleep...and then woke up to Alex sleeping at my side. Emily then made me coffee...just the way I like it, with lots of creamer! And I got to use my new vacuum from Dan! Seriously...it's what I wanted...I really love it! I actually like to clean...even though our house might not be a good example of that...but when I have the time...{heart} it!
I was also a proud momma on Saturday when I got to watch Emily run her little legs as fast as they could go in our city's kid's fun run!
She saw a lot of her friends...
...and ran with the best of them!
Go Emily!
She ran 3/4 of a mile and her time was about 4 1/2 minutes...great job Emily!
It was a perfect weekend for me...and Dan even went to the grocery store for me...bonus!
I love my family...
...I Love being a mom!
Such a nice celebration Carrie. I'm glad it was filled with things that you wanted (and a few extra zzz's). That Emily...I just love her spunk!
