Dan was out of town for a few days this past week...and we miss him tons while he's away...but we also take advantage of the time he is gone by eating pizza and ice cream for dinner every night...and sending fun and silly texts to each other back and forth!
Friday night we spent the evening at the kids' school playing Bingo and eating more pizza and lots of other yummy junk like nachos and cheese, soft pretzels, taffy, cookies and cupcakes! Alex and Emily each brought a friend and we played up until the end...where Alex won the final Bingo! Dinner will be on him one of these nights...he received a gift voucher to a local bistro in town!
...Emily also had her face painted with Southside's logo!
Saturday morning we woke to early thunderstorms...but perfect for a nice lazy morning to stay in our pj's and enjoy having no place to go...perfect for me to appreciate hearing sweet giggles from Ellie playing dress up with Emily...
...and then heading out to ice-skating and lunch at Chili's! {we really do eat bad while Dan's away!}
The kids loved having Daddy home on Saturday evening...just in time for family game night and enjoying the rest of the weekend staying up late watching tv...
...Sunday swimming...
...and planting some Spring flowers...
...we also took advantage of the breezy windy day to get out the kites!
{and yes...Emily is wearing her pajamas! It was a great weekend!}
I think the Easter Bunny had planned to leave some new kites in their Easter baskets...but he must have forgotten...so as luck would have it...I just happen to find some in the basement! ...ahem...
Emily had a little trouble getting started...
...but once she got it going...she and Alex both had their kites as high as they could go!
It was so nice to finally have a weekend to slow down, enjoy the weather...wind, rain and shine...and take it easy!
Looking forward to many more days just the same...
{Now...to get the house back in order from the weekend...
but that's what Monday is for...
...and maybe Tuesday...
...and Wednesday...
...and Thursday...
...oh boy...it may take until next weekend!}
I love the Sunday collage!! Yesterday was such a beautiful day and got me really excited for summer. I love the kids' kites...I used to do that all of the time when I was little. Your flowers are really pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI love all your pictures! I love that I have seen half of them on Instagram too:) My boys tried to fly kites this week...it was hilarious! They had one kite and they were trying to help each other but it didn't go so well. They did get it in the air for a little while, but not long!
