today emily wanted to go paint pottery and ithought that was a perfect place to go and keep cool and hang out with my favorite girls!
emily loves to paint and do crafts and she totally zipped through her first project and wanted to start on the next...
at first i told her she was only allowed to paint one thing...but i let her big brown eyes tell me otherwise...dang it...
...so she got to paint a cat keepsake box and a plate that she embellished with her name...and what else...another kitty!
at first...i decided not to paint and just watch and take pictures...but then i decided to join in! it really is fun...and pretty relaxing! i didn't have any creative ideas...but ended up painting just a simple ornament to hang on our christmas tree!
it's really hard to see...ipainted all of our names on each point of the star in red...the star will be silver and there is just a little green heart in the middle! ihope it looks pretty once it's all shiny! i'm thinking i'll have to add some sparkle and bling to it before christmas gets here!
elizabeth had a delightful time examining all the brushes...
...and playing with a little school bus full of dolls that the pottery place had...
...she is really a great companion most times!
emily is eagerly waiting for the call to pick up her trinkets... and ithink it's fun to see the finished projects too all smooth and shiny!
and ellie can't wait to go back either...she's resting up now!
we ended the evening with our usual family walk...minus alex and emily who played with their friends next door instead...they love riding their bikes and scooters through all the neighborhood sprinklers that hit the sidewalk!
and then a quick romp through our sprinklers!
...but emily is getting excited about the first day...alex not so much!
iwelcome the schedule and routine that a school year brings.
...but ihate to see summer ending.
{these moments captured with my ipod}
I would love to go to a pottery place like that. We don't have anything like that around here since our town is so small. I might have to find one when we head to Minneapolis in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteYour school sure starts early....I am not ready for summer to be over yet. It took sooooo long to get here this year.
What a fun time! :) I'd love to have a place like that around here. And I adore that pic of Ellie sleeping. <3 How sweet! Our school starts on the 18th. I dread it. :(
ReplyDeleteWe had a paint place like that when my kids where younger.....we would go a lot and the kids would always talk me into painting more that 1! Hope yall enjoy the last few days of summer!
ReplyDeleteI've done the party a picture thing before, but never the pottery! It looks like such a fun time! I love Emily's cat trinket box:) My boys weren't thrilled about school starting back, but taking a vacation after three weeks should make it better!
ReplyDeleteI hate to see the summer end too, but I'm like you...I love the fall routine!
ReplyDeleteSo cute...I love that place. I actually still have a plate there half finished (from Nov) and I haven't gotten back there to get it done. Hopefully they still have it, I can't wait until I can take the girls there!
ReplyDeletePictures from your iPod...wow!!! What a sweet outing with your girls. I actually have a Groupon to one of those places as a surprise for Jamison. I love Emily and her cats...she's so sweet. Enjoy the rest of your days :)
ReplyDeleteYou are loving your ipod. It takes great pictures. Very fun time. My girls love doing pottery too. We haven't painted in a few years though. Very sad.
