Destin {Early Bird Special}

One of the great things that we enjoy on vacation is eating out...and no cooking!  Definitely a diet-buster...but we sure love seafood when we're in Florida and going to new and fun restaurants!  {Dan gets huge kudos though...he has been on Weight Watchers for several months and has lost over 30 pounds...and he did great not eating everything on his plate...however...that was not the case for me...ahem...}

Destin has so many fun places to eat...but it does get crowded.  We would usually be at dinner by 4:30 which worked out great for getting the best seat...and taking advantage of all the Early Bird Specials!  ha!

One of the first places we ate at was Bubba Gump's...always a favorite no matter where we travel!

Our most favorite place...so far...was the Whale's Tail!  They had delicious shrimp fajitas...and the view of the beach was beautiful!

We went there twice while we were here...yum!

McGuire's was a fun restaurant with millions of dollars all over the walls and ceiling...and just about everywhere!  Dan said he heard a guy say the place is insured because there are literally about a million dollar bills in the place...but who could count them all?!

The best part of our small wait to eat al fresco here was that Alex and Emily were playing in the 'phone' booth...and Emily says, "Look, I found a dollar!"  But it was actually a $20 bill in the atm machine!  We felt dishonest taking it...I even went inside the restaurant to find a way to give it to someone or put it in a tip jar...but the hostess said it was ours! 

So...Emily got to pay a visit to the gift shop!

Fisherman's Wharf was rated Best Grilled Cheese...by Alex!  {Whale's Tail came in second!}  We had to order Alex and Emily two sandwhiches for each of them! 

It was a fun place to sit and look at all the boats!

{And I loved the color of the chairs!  I wanted to take some home with me!}

The Crab Trap had some pretty views of the beach too!  And Alex and Emily got a little bucket and shovel with their meals!

And lastly...{unless you count the Subway we had for lunch one day...still very tasty!} we ate at the Back Porch.  It was the first restaurant we went to...and it was a fun atmosphere al fresco too!  We didn't get a spot to view the beach, but it was still nice open-air dining.

I think I already mentioned that the shrimp fajitas from the Whale's Tail were my favorite...but I enjoyed lots of fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, clam chowder and more shrimp!  Mmmmmm...my mouth is watering!

Sometimes it's the restaurants that make me want to go back to a certain place...and I think Destin is at the top of that list!  So many places to enjoy good food!
