This weekend we celebrated Dan and what a great daddy he is!
{Let me back up...we seriously celebrated Father's Day today! We both thought it was this Sunday...he had gifts and everything! Nothing like being ahead of the game...for once! The only reason we found out is because Dan called his dad to wish him Happy Father's Day and he said...that's next week! Guess we need to look at the calendar once in awhile! I told you it has been a crazy busy week!}
Okay...back to Dan's day...
I'm not sure when or how it started...but Alex and Emily always call him Dude! They say...Hey, Dude...can I have some milk? or they ask me...Where's Dude? Ha!
He gives us so much every day...but it's hard for us to find something that is just right for him when it comes to gifts...but they came up with the idea to clean his car for him...inside and out! Perfect!
{I'm not sure if they really did this for him...or for themselves! They had so much fun!}
They really wanted to surprise Dan...so when he was mowing the lawn...they got to work!
It looks great! And...of course Dan saw us...but he thought it was so cute! He loved it!
After their hard work...the weather was perfect for our first campfire of the summer! Dan has been working on this area forever...and it's still under construction...but it's finally starting to take shape!

{this was actually the first time Alex has ever tried a S'more...he's never wanted to eat roasted marshmallows before...but once he tried it...he wanted s'more! ha!

{Elizabeth wanted to try one too...but maybe we'll wait until next year!}
It was such a beautiful weekend to spend outside...and I'm glad we celebrated Father's Day...we'll be out of town next weekend anyway...so it all worked out! Plus...that only means he will get to be spoiled twice!

Well happy early Father's Day to Dude! :) Looks like you had an awesome time and the weather was just perfect for being outdoors. Would your kids like to wash my vehicles? Send 'em on up! ;) That is NOT one of my favorite jobs!

I love that they call him dude and I see how much he does for you all and vice versa. The S'mores look super yummy, glad Alex came around. The picture of Ellie with the sponge washing the car is adorable.

ReplyDeleteI think that was a wonderful gift and it made for a great photo shoot too, so you got to be spoiled as well. Love the first shot with the rainbow in the water. Great job! Love that Alex never has tried a smore. I always eat them without the marshmallow. LOL
ReplyDeleteHow funny that you thought Father's Day was last week! I was thinking I still had another week after this one:) I love the new fire pit area...it is looking great! Washing the Dude's car was such a fun gift too...maybe I can talk my boys into doing something like that for Jason!
