...shoot...I had to open my big mouth...
She has had a fever and cough since Sunday and has missed school all week...poor thing...just look at that hair! {I know I'm so mean to take her picture when she's not feeling good!}
The doctor didn't find anything wrong with her...but gave her some cough medicine...and her fever keeps lingering... sigh...
She hasn't really eaten much all week either...but she finally ate Wendy's last night and seemed to be feeling better... we even went outside to enjoy the beautiful pink sky at sunset and the warm weather...
...then when I took her temperature, it had gone down...to 101 at least...she fell asleep... but then decided she didn't want the Wendy's after all...ugh!
This morning was no different...we've been meeting around 3am every morning with Emily greeting me saying, "I feel hot." Temperature...102.6 So we went back to the doctor {this time it was her pediatrician and not the walk-in clinic we went to before...thank goodness!} and she was given the pink antibiotic {that always goes down so much better!} and was told to take breathing treatments 3-4 times a day for the next few days for the wheezing in her chest...so glad those will be getting their money's worth!
...and of course...lots more of this...
Alex told me her friends are worried about her and have been asking him when she's coming back to school...so sweet. And he's tired of bringing her homework home and taking it back to her teacher...ha! I told him he gets the gold star this week for being such an awesome big brother! Let's hope she can finally get back to school tomorrow!
...well...at least her hair is looking a little better!
Poor Emily. :( Tucker had what they called a 'ten day flu' a few weeks ago. The only symptoms? A fever all day and all night (usually higher at night), a headache most of the time, and then before it was over he had some asthma symptoms and ear infections. So keep an eye on those little ears. Sure hope she avoids that part and feels better really soon!
ReplyDeleteYuck! Sorry to hear that Emily is under the weather. We have been so sick and it has been miserable. So thankful that everyone seems to have cleared the yuckiness! I pray that Miss Emily does the same very quickly. How sweet that her big brother has played the role of messenger :) I really wanted to keep my son home an extra year before starting kindergarten so he and his sister would only be 2 years apart but he was way too eager to go to school. At least they'll have a few years together!
ReplyDeleteBless her little heart. Both my boys have allergy induced asthma. Jack's we've known about a while but Charlie's is just emerging. He had a HORRIBLE attack this week which resulted in an ER trip when we couldn't get it under control at home. :( I hope Em's feeling better.
ReplyDeletePoor little honey bunny! Hope she is feeling better VERY soon. That fever and cough went through our house a couple of weeks ago and now Grant has a cold again and I feel one coming on! Arrrr! I blame it on school! Hopefully everyone else in your house avoids the bug. Take care!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet Emily. I hope she gets better fast. She looks so cozy on the couch...I'm sure you're taking great care of her.
ReplyDeletePoor Emily! I hope she is feeling better by now! I hate when my kiddos are sick...and mine always seem to get sick when I say "they never get sick"!! I love the bedhead pic:) I have taken pictures of my boys when they were sick before too!
ReplyDeleteAwe...poor thing. Stunt Man has been doing some breathing treatments too. Woke up with a whooping cough but is doing better now and has had no fever. Thank God. Hope she is back to 100%
ReplyDeleteBless her heart...I hope she feels better soon! I hate when my kiddos are sick...they are normally so loud and silly. When they are sick it makes me sad...they are so quiet.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon Emily :)
