Time to join Pam and share the moments we're going to miss one day...because life is so short! Sometimes it's hard to find those moments among our busy schedules, but that's what I love about participating in this...it makes me stop and think about it and appreciate them so much more!
I know it seems as though all my moments and time have focused on Emily...but the time is fleeting...and once they start school all day...I don't get that time back! I already miss it so much with Alex! {And besides...when I try and take his picture, he runs like the wind to hide from the camera!}
If you've never painted pottery at a place like this...I recommend it! It's a little overwhelming to walk in and pick something out and try to decide what to do with it...but once you sit down and grab a paintbrush...it's so relaxing!
Emily picked out a little kitten and a little egg...and I decided to paint a larger-sized egg...mainly because it was about the simplest thing I could think to paint...and Easter's around the corner! We listened to the great music playing and enjoyed the warm sun pouring in the windows {especially since we haven't seen it in a few days...so gloomy lately!}...and concentrated on our painting...and in between paint drying...I, of course, took pictures! A great, peaceful afternoon for these two artists...and it's always fun to get the finished pieces back! They look so much better when they've been 'cooked'...all shiny and smooth!
I love spending this quiet time with both Alex and Emily...doing what they love to do! I'll miss this wonderful, alone time painting pottery after school...when they start getting too involved with activities and friends and even more homework...yuck! So I will cherish it now...and will have these cute, shiny little trinkets to remember it later!
What will you miss one day? Stop by Pam's and share that special moment with us, too...before you blink...and you miss it!

Carrie,
ReplyDeleteYou are so amazingly talented! I really love the shot of the brushes!
I love those pottery places...I need to take Jamison. I love Emily's little egg and the picture of the two of you. So sweet. It just shows what a sweet relationship you have with you children and that you're really enjoying them. What a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a pottery painting place before! I really want to do a girls night out and paint pretty stuff...I don't think I'm ready to take my wild boys to quiet place like that just yet:)
ReplyDeleteWe have nothing like that around here and it would be so cool! You enjoy all of these moments because you are absolutely right...they are gone far too soon. I miss having a little one at home with me through the day. I enjoyed each of them so much and I really think that quality time with them builds such a firm foundation for their futures. :)
ReplyDeleteOh that looks like it was so much fun! I've never been to a pottery place, but there is one less than ten minutes from here. It would be fun to take my Goddaughter there! I'll have to keep it in mind. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen my kids were that age, we visited the same type of place. What sweet memories! I still have the things they painted. You def. cannot get those precious days back! Enjoy... Have a great day :)
ReplyDeletewonderful photos and looks like a special mommy/daughter moment. She is SUCH a beautiful little girl!
ReplyDeleteI have never done that with my boys but I think they are getting to the age where they could do it creatively now!
ReplyDeleteI finally have my giveaway up...come and get your Friday Freebies!!! ;)
How fun! I just love your photos!!!
ReplyDeleteI love doing paint your own pottery! I can't wait until T is old enough to do that with me. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! They came out great. Nice post... I love those quiet moments when we create together, too. Ours are more sewing and cooking... but it boils down to the same... little moments that go too fast.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to bring our kids to do this. There is a fairly new little shop like this in our little town and now you are making me want to go there and paint right now! I am so jealous you get to spend these peaceful and special times with your kids during the day. Such sweet memories and you are so right...the trinkets you have made will be wonderful little reminders some day.
ReplyDeleteWe love going to the pottery place too. It is much harder now that they are in school all day..but so fun to just relax and paint. Cute pictures.
