Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and so many others have not been doing this week!
Whew...it's not been a long week trying to get back to our normal routine after being on break...and it's not easy when you start back to school for two days that are not immediately followed by two wonderful snow days!

During one of those snow days...we did not visit the allergy doctor, find some bargains at Old Navy and eat delicious chips and salsa at Chili's...and then come home to realize we had not lost something very special along the way!
{What do all of these pictures have in common?}

Okay two things... if you guessed 1} Emily and 2} her blankie...which has not left her side her whole life...you are right! It was my baby blanket too {sniff, sniff} That's right...we've not had that blankie our whole lives...and it's actually lost! Maybe it will turn up...we've called the authorities...I'm sure they'll be in touch with us soon!
Meanwhile...I did not pull Dan's old baby blankets out of hiding to try and replace what I thought was irreplacable...but apparently Emily did not love them even more!
{I know...she's almost six...time to give up the blankie...but I'm sentimental!}

She did not snuggle right up with them and exclaim "Oh, now I have two blankies...and these are much softer!" She did not lay right down on the couch with me and watch {well...she fell asleep!} Sleepless in Seattle...as it was not the very first time I had ever seen that movie!
Emily did not make Dan a new tool belt so he can work on the basement in style...

...and help get these things cleaned up a little bit faster!

And...because I'm such a pro at laundry...I certainly did not have to run the rinse cycle three times because I kept forgetting to put the fabric softener in! At least I remembered to put them in the dryer...and not because Emily had to remind me that she was waiting for her new {old} blankie to get dry!
I can't believe Emily lost her blankie - oh no. But I love that she loves Dan's blankies too. How cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the tool belt too! Why isn't there a picture of Dan wearing it? Ha!!!
Aubrey
I started to have a little heart attack for you!
ReplyDeleteI hope it returns.
You did good as a Mommy if she was totally okay with Dan's.
Sorry the blankie is lost but lucky for you that she is willing to accept a new one! My Perri had 'Girlfriend', a little soft terry cloth doll that she always carried and even slept with. Lo and behold, Girlfriend was lost on the way to Disney World. Guess I should consider us fortunate that at least it occured just before we arrived at 'The Happiest Place on Earth'. It did help lessen the sting, I think. :)
ReplyDeleteI bet it was hard trying to get back on schedule and then being out for two more days...but the snow day looks like a lot of fun! I hope you find Emily's blankie soon. My boys never had blankies...mainly because my cousin's little girl was really attached to hers....and I didn't want my boys to be that attached just in case we did lose it!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you find the blanket! It's hard to loose something so precious like that. And sounds like y'all made the most of your snow day!
ReplyDeleteI'll put up fliers for the blanket. We can't go without that...even though she did get a nice replacement. Jamison loves her blanket too but she did recently tell me that it's time for a new one, such a big girl. I love Sleepless in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteOh no about the blanket. I hope it turns up soon. She is adorable. Lucky you for having snow days...how fun. We had snow, but still had school. :(
ReplyDeleteYour photography is amazing. And just for the record, I am 32 and still have my blankie. Just sayin.
ReplyDelete:)
Blessings-
Amanda
Oh no!! The blankie!!! My fingers are crossed that it will turn up somewhere!
