I can't say it enough...and I hope you can't hear enough, because I will say it again...I love my MOPS group and I am so thankful to be part of such a wonderful, supportive group of moms! Yesterday our MOPS group contributed to the awesome Operation Christmas Child project! I've always wanted to give to this amazing organization, and thanks to Aubrey and the other beautiful moms who lead our MOPS group, they helped organize MOPS Gives Back. We were able to pack twelve boxes full of toiletries, candy, toys, pencils, paper, socks, shirts...and so many fun items for twelve children to receive on Christmas! Not only will they enjoy opening their boxes full of surprises, but they will also receive the blessing of Jesus and the hope to know Him as their Saviour! It was an amazing feeling to be a part of this, and I only wish that we could be there to see those beautiful faces when the children open their boxes! I get overwhelmed knowing that our little boxes can make such a huge impact on their lives!

Not only did we pack boxes, each group also made a blanket to give to our local hospital's birthing center to cover the isolettes of newborn babies!

It was a great day of giving back, having fun, and leaving full of joy!
I love my MOPS group!
{Now go find out where you can drop off a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child in your area! Mimi does, and so does Pam! Be a blessing!}

Me too. I've been doing this for maybe 10 years. I've lost track. At one point I was doing 8 boxes. A few years I did six but I'm back down to four. It gets expensive. But they are my kids. I don't have kids so I've always enjoyed giving to these special kiddos who have so little. I've seen pictures of when they open gifts. I think a couple years that had pictures of Franklin Graham with the kids. They were SO happy.
ReplyDeleteThis ministry is one very close to my heart. I am so passionate about it. I wish they did it like every quarter. I always look forward to November. Mine are packed and ready for church this Sunday.
I've also seen these blankets made. Did you know I did the ingeninous thing and I made a pillow cover like this to cover two ugly pillows. They look great!!
I just learned about this project this year. I love the idea. I want to get our church involved next year for sure...
ReplyDeleteWow those boxes are awesome. What will you do with the blankets you are making? Is that another project for operation Christmas child? Cute and what a great MOPS group you have.
ReplyDeleteThose are great! I went to our local MOPS group last year and loved it, so I was really excited to go this year. I went, paid all the fees etc and went to two meetings, and it was not fun. I just didnt click with anyone. I would talk to women and they'd look at me like..."why are you talking to me?" However, I think im going to keep giving it more tries =-) Im glad you have an awesome group!
ReplyDeleteOh, what great ideas! It always feels so good to give to those who need it and those who will greatly appreciate it. We adopt a family at my office and I just love shopping for all of the gifts. That really is what Christmas is all about, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a group of ladies you can have fun with!!! I had that before we moved... people are the same where we now live! Oh well, at least I had fun while it lasted! Enjoy , you are truly blessed!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a SUPER fun group! I picked up two boxes at church a few weeks ago...but the boys and I haven't had time to go fill it up yet! Our church is a drop location this year, and we are baking cookies on Sunday for all the people who are coming to drop off their boxes...so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWe just did some OCC boxes over here too. It's such a wonderful program.
ReplyDeleteWe're doing those too - your boxes look awesome!
ReplyDeleteYour MOPS group is wonderful... I wish I lived by you!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose blankets and boxes are going to bring SUCH joy to a child...
Well done faithful servant!
Blessings-
Amanda
Wow! That is so fantastic! :)
ReplyDeleteOH how awesome, Carrie! Awesome photos for an awesome group of ladies who are doing AWESOME things for people in need.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
We participate in the Angel Tree ministry at our church... and the youth group (and me as a youth worker) will be delivering some gifts to the elderly shut-ins from on congregation who are home-bound and don't get the chance to get out for the holidays =0(
I agree - GIVE BACK!!! We get as much of a blessing from it as they do, if not more!
Oh how fun! Looks like you ladies had a wonderful time giving to a great cause. It doesn't get much better than that!
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend!
Hope you have a great weekend!
What a great thing for your group to do. Our church does this too. It sounds like you are part of a wonderful and giving group.
ReplyDeleteAt my church in MI, we did shoeboxes! Sounds like you have a fun group of ladies to spend time with...and love the blankets
ReplyDeleteAwesome post Carrie and great pictures as always.
