Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and so many others have not been doing this week!
It is not Monday again! It just isn't...I refuse to accept it! The very last Monday before my babies start school! Really, they are just babies, and babies don't go to school! Okay, they are wonderful, smart, big kids who are more ready for school than I am! They are not super-duper excited about it and Emily cannot wait to see what the inside of the school bus looks like! I will not enjoy some quiet mornings soon...I'm not maybe a little excited about that!
We were not enjoying one last fun playdate with friends on Friday afternoon swimming and eating popcorn...that we did not even know that this was in our 'backyard'...

Apparently...the driver of this semitrailer did not somehow drive up the steep hill just on the other side {yes, up a hill!} ...through a fence and the line of trees to end up in the pond in our neighborhood! Ouch! {there is a busy interstate that runs just along the other side of the trees...and he was ok!} It did not cause lots of neighbors, traffic, big trucks and heavy equipment to take over the neighborhood to get the semi out of the pond...and it did not take until midnight for it to be pulled out! {I'm totally not a night owl...and did not see all the trucks still working with their bright lights on!}

I certainly do not still have my suitcase lying on my bedroom floor fully packed from our vacation a week ago! Of course not! I'm much more prompt at putting things away back where they belong...and not just getting things from the suitcase when I need it!
I did not spend Saturday doing absolutely nothing! No way! After all, I still do not have suitcases to unpack, and groceries to buy and laundry to be done. I would not spend that time sleeping in until 9:30, not showering and jumping off the swings with the kids! I am so much more efficient with my time! Therefore, I definitely do not have sore thumbs from playing Alex's Nintendo DS for hours and hours trying to pass all the levels of Super Mario Bros. Really, I don't! It does not frustrate me endlessly when Mario falls into the lava over and over again...I do not promise Alex "Just one more time!" over and over again!
I will not shed a few tears or get a lump in my throat this week as both my babies get on the bus on Friday...I will not! {sniff, sniff...sobbing...tissues will be secretly waiting in my pocket...just in case!}
Happy, happy Monday!

Oh My that is amazing that the trailer went through the trees and ended up in the pond. Those were great pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat is funny that your suitcase is still unpacked. That so sounds like me. It usually takes me forever to unpack. Of course I hate putting laundry away. That is probably why!
Enjoy this week with your kids,
Christy
I'm glad the driver is OK! I love the you did nothing on Saturday...neither did we. We were in jammies all day and just chilled. I love how you were trying to beat the Mario game.
ReplyDeleteOh my word.... how embarrasing for the truck driver!! I can totally relate to the unpacked suitcase....just do in later when the kids are in school! Have a great last few days with them!
ReplyDeleteI totally bawled after dropping Jack off today! ;) And that semi, wow...quite some entertainment! What a beautiful view from your backyard...at least when the semi's not there!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I'm so sad to see summer coming to an end. =0( Mathew goes back on the 17th and the two younger ones go back on the 24th.
ReplyDeleteI'll be awaiting the 'first day of school' post as BOTH of your little ones board the bus together. =0)
Oh my gosh!! I can't believe what happened to that truck!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe the kids start school on Friday! It still seems like summer just began! :(
I love Not Me, Mondays! That truck in the water is hysterical. Don’t get me wrong, I feel terrible for the poor guys… but must have been a sight to “HAVE NOT” seen! Lol! Very cute!!!
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodnes....I bet that truck caused some major excitment in your neighborhood! It didn't take me almost a full week to finally get all of our vacation stuff unpacked either! Enjoy your last week before school starts!
ReplyDeleteThat truck thing is just crazy. How did the driver do that? crazy!
ReplyDeleteI love to play the kids Nintendo DS too. Hope that the first day of school goes well for all 3 of you:)
I feel terrible for that driver. Wow, that's awful! I am just terrible at unpacking, too. I am trying really, really hard today. We went camping this past weekend. Unpacking the day after a trip is impressive for me.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I read the post earlier (at work) but couldn't see the pictures. The truck in the pond is CRAZY!!!
ReplyDeleteWe sound so much alike too! Grant and I were up till 11 pm the other night (didn't have to get up in the morning...thankfully) playing Lego Batman on the Wii. I was the one saying, "How bout one more!" Ha Ha! I guess we are all just big kids at heart.
Wow that sucks for the trucker. My husband was part owner in a trucking company before joining the police force early last year. We have had incidents similar to this with the employees.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see I'm not the only one that hates to unpack!
